"Transphobia impacts cis people too" "Patriarchy hurts men too" "Disability access benefits the abled too" Are these true? Are they occasionally useful arguments to convince people? Sure. But if they're the only arguments I ever see you making, I'm gonna be real suspicious of your motivation.

I kinda wish we'd retire this talking point tbh. They're coming for everyone. They hate everyone. They specifically hate trans people tho, more and above everything else. They're not a stepping stone to more oppression, and they're not pawns in your political chess games, they're people.

i do not want the games industry to recover. i want something new to be built atop its now ashen foundation and i want those who previously brought ruin, rot, and misery to be outside looking in as they give up and seek some other well to poison

"I would move out of the way. I'm built different." You are built like sentient strawberry preservatives and move at the speed of a software update. The fireball would consume you in seconds. Never pour fuel over an open flame.

Pratchett's politics burn blazingly bright. He was a man who cared *fiercely*, despised injustice, and refused to confuse politeness with goodness. Indeed, I can summarize his politics in one sentence: “Sin, young man, is when you treat people as things.”

Sometimes as an NYT books columnist you find yourself quoted in the Atlantic by Helen Lewis, who believes two odd things: 1. That nobody is reading Pratchett anymore (instead of all the time, as they should), and 2. That Pratchett’s politics are hard to pin down, and Reg Shoe is not a fucking hero.

“You have one remaining wish.” “Summon a hydra in the middle of my enemy’s fortress, but one with so many heads that any new heads will be crushed immediately, creating an ever-expanding mass of hydra heads that will destroy the entire stronghold.” “You mean…?” “Yes. A hydra-djinn bomb.”

Happy 10th anniversary to the classic video game, Doom! I hope everyone is reminiscing fondly over the past decade of good times with this venerable old game.

Christ, imagine having any aspect of your life restricted by someone who thinks using “spicy” as a euphemism avoids embarrassment. “The court has found you guilty of spicy conduct and sentences you to unalivement by icky squad :3”Humiliating

This pattern where people talk shit about Bluesky trust and safety head Aaron Rodericks, and I'm like "come on, there's no way he could be that bad". And then they show me the posts of Bluesky trust and safety head Aaron Rodericks, and I'm like "I need to get as far away from this site as possible"

given the recent posting of the official strikes rules, I'd like to copy-paste my own version from a tumblr post I made the other day: Social media is simple: everyone gets three strikes before you're banned, you don't know how many strikes you're on, and trans women start with two strikes.
