This is very clearly true. It is also true that information bubbles like BlueSky risk doing exactly the same thing on the other side. People need to confront reality that progressives underperformed. Not just AES/Flanagan/Jackson. Bernie-picked Dunlap lost to LePage in ME-2. Disaster.

An underdiscussed (imo) aspect of this election cycle is the extent to which media consolidation and domination by conservatives resulted in huge blind spots that ultimately prevented them from recognizing the widespread anger and dissatisfaction directed at Republicans.

New rule for myself: every time I see a dumb take and get an urge to partake in any sort of Dem internal feuding nonsense right now, I will instead find another preposterous win from Tuesday that makes me happy

Some things that won't happen with a Democratic Senate: Appropriations Chair Susan Collins Banking Chair Tim Scott Budget+Investigations Chair Ron Johnson Commerce Chair Ted Cruz Homeland Security Chair Rand Paul Finance Chair Mike Crapo Judiciary Chair Mike Lee Intel Chair Tom Cotton

I always greedily look ahead: 2028 SENATE TARGETS Tier 1 Ron Johnson Ted Budd Lisa Murkowski Tier 2 Tim Scott Ashley Moody Chuck Grassley Gerry Moran Tier 3 Todd Young Eric Schmitt Mike Lee Tennessee (TBD) John Kennedy Others up for reelection K Britt R Paul J Boozeman J Hoeven J Thune M Crapo

Let me make this *crystal* fucking clear. A thing we are not about to do this week or at anytime in the future is continue this "both parties are the same" garbage in the face of what we're dealing with right now. This right here is, as far as I'm concerned, fascist apologia.

Andrew (Ask about my book) Ingram's post on my repost talking about Black voters delivering it for the Dems.

"Democrates are just 80s republicans now. They arent going to help marginalized groups they are going to get gas prices down. They don't have to let a single wrongfully detained person out of lock up or hire a single black air traffic controller back they just gotta pretend they tried"

Please read this incredibly thoughtful & smart thread. Tuesday‘s amazing Dem successes were not just lucky happenings, but due to the hard work put in by so many people, particularly Black Women, who have been our most reliable workers/votes for decades, along with Dem leaders (and funding!).🍸🍸

Sigh. Way too much of white America still does not understand the double standard it perpetuates for non-white people in leadership roles, especially Black people. The privilege you have to throw hissy fits, issue ultimatums, threats, etc. isn't the same for us, and if and when we do, you turn

Top Jewish values most American Jews were raised with are "don't do a genocide" and "pursue education." We know when we're being used as a straw man to screw others—and that this makes us a target. Netanyahu's actions, besides devastating Palestinians, have hugely increased antisemitism in the US.

More than half of American Jews think the Trump administration's campaign to cut funding to universities in the name of "fighting antisemitism" actually results in more antisemitism. That campaign was never about helping Jews. It was about instrumentalizing Jews to destroy higher education.

Every single person screaming about leader elections in DC would be FAR better served picking an issue and pursuing it in their now more Democratic state. Pick an issue, make it happen. YOU can make govt work at the state level. emptywheel.net/2026/11/06/w...

WSJ's Tears and a 2-Year Plan to Save Democracy - emptywheel

The Great Blue Tsunami of 2026 brought democracy back to states where it hasn't been seen for decades, if not a century. And we need to focus at the state level to ensure we complete the project in 20...

I've seen a lot of people honor Beto and Stacey Abrams for their ground work that lead to the flip of Texas and Georgia but in Mississippi, Jim Hood, Mike Espy (2X), and Brandon Presley ran hard uphill races and showed it was possible and built the networks needed for a final victory
