I listen to Top Hits playlists periodically, so I have heard Choosin Texas. I think many people have heard it in the background at a restaurant or store and don’t remember. A lot of current pop country/folk songs, especially the ballads, are fine but forgettable.

Imagine if, instead of regulating drones (which we did!), we instead decided to let drone companies self-regulate, and ALSO dedicated tons of money and time to "problems" like "what if, in 1000 years, hyper-intelligent dogs learn to fly drones into mailmen." This is what we are doing with AI.

On 9/11, I worked in the Dean of Students’ office at OU. Mid-afternoon, the head librarian at Athens Public Library called. She had a group who wanted to offer support to international students. A place to stay, escorts around town, a friendly local presence to sit on their front porch. Just in case

After my friend had her first child, a volunteer came around to sign her son up for Dolly’s Imagination Library. My friend demurred, they were doing fine financially and already had a good collection of children’s books. “Doesn’t matter.” said the volunteer “Dolly’s library is for ALL children”
