Cool aspect of KH4 Xehanort: what he's holding is NOT an Umbrella. It's a Parapluie Umbrellas, root word Umbra (Darkness), block out light, whereas a Parapluie lets Light in and only stops Rain He has no reason to block out the Light in a world without it but water often represents Darkness in KH.

To a degree, I do think there's too much inertia to stop the bleeding in the short term for many reasons. Historically, what's protected localizers best is when our work is visible, recognized, and tangibly affects a game's success. When company cultures embrace our work, that's when we're safest. 🧵

Aaaand that's a wrap on my 2-month summer holiday, wanted to do a quick recap on what I've been messing around with. I spent a small portion of my holiday learning Blender and Godot (almost) from scratch. And I'm fairly proud of what I managed to achieve in small bits here and there!
I really miss the Babelfish days of machine translators and how especially useless it was with Japanese<->English. For a long time, it insisted the Japanese title for Animal Crossing translated to "How You Hit the Forest" and it wasn't until a decade later I finally figured out the logic behind it.
