Studying genetic, environmental, and host factors in tumor progression of #PancreaticCancer and #LungCancer at Yale

We’re starting to understand something important about diet and pancreatic cancer: it’s not just how much fat we eat, it’s the types of fats in our diet. In preclinical models, some fats were linked to faster tumor growth, while others helped slow it down by making cancer cells more vulnerable.

How does diet causally influence tumor development? Fat composition — not amount — rewires the pancreatic lipidome to control ferroptosis sensitivity and tumorigenesis. Grateful to all collaborators and excited to build on this.
