I have completely and actively avoid ed using AI at work despite increasing pointless use by colleagues. Up until 2022/23, everyone was doing a full days work without AI - so yes I cope very well doing things myself to a standard that is continually praised for being high-quality.

I literally worked the Sam Vimes boots theory in the early 90s. Worked at Oliver (cheap) and also Clarks (more pricey) - quality difference was night and day. Kids would come for new school shoes each August. Only Clarks kids were still wearing the (pinchy) shoes - Oliver shoes just hadn’t survived.

It's clear that many cis people aren't aware how truly fucking awful the New York Times has been towards trans people and that it is not just a bit transphobic like so many others but a leading voice that has been cited in legal cases taking away the rights of trans people.

Fucking laughable that this is Amnesty International’s @amnesty.org header, when they fold like a towel in a laundry over trans rights. I think they should now be added to the Very British Bigotry blocklist.
