Last episode ended with Gleeson going "ha ha Tom is cross-dressing" which sucks but at least now I never have to watch Dave Hughes again. And I get to see Emma Holland live on Saturday! 🥳

Going through series 4 of TM Australia and on the plus side it has Emma Holland and Takashi Wakasugi, who I adore, but on the downside it has Dave Hughes.

It's impressive how bad Google is these days. I'm searching for an LGBT friendly nail salon in Leeds and literally on the first page it's recommending me someone in Mumbai.

I've been attending @alicefraser.bsky.social's writers' workshops for a few weeks now and it has been excellent for actually getting me to sit down and write and iterate and edit. For the first time ever I have overwritten and am having to actually trim down good stuff to get a new ten.

I was looking back over the Edinburgh Comedy Award winners and 1. How were there no women on those shortlists for so long and 2. This is the worst set of nominations I've ever seen, good lord. I hope Pappys are okay.

I know that everything is propaganda for the military industrial complex these days. But you'd have thought as part of that they could make a single depiction of the army in any medium a positive or likable one.

It is, however, making it easier to narrow down Edinburgh shows to go to this year.

I just read someone say "maybe some art is just meant to be an 8.5/10" and I felt a little spark in my brain. As a critic I am always evaluating what was amazing about something and what could be improved. But my expectation is never that a great work be a 10/10.
