I have just paid the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Society £96. This is happening 😱

Watching old Louis Theroux documentaries and at the risk of being controversial I'm not a fan of the Aryan Brotherhood.
"Bluesky is a political echo chamber" okay but I'm mostly here to chat with fun internet people and post art and make jokes, I cannot stress how much I don't care
Thank you AdventureX for not putting tickets on sale when I am sat in an Edinburgh basement this year.
Check our curated #AdvX26 games appearing at adventurexpo.org! Go on an adventure into the world of narrative gaming and join us in London on 7-8 November! Tickets go on sale on 12 August!
one of the coolest things about the internet is that you can tell a writer/artist/etc that you like their stuff, and they'll probably see it
I recognise the specific context here but “Please, I need my car to meet criminals” is a very funny plea for leniency.
Author Lynda La Plante banned from driving for six months
... We may have got a Fringe slot for our musical improv show.
Sorry this has just reminded me of the worst thing I saw at Pride, which was the Bank of England marching along with cardboard printouts of the back of a fifty pound note and they were all pointing at Alan.
While I have your attention, due to the portrait of Turing on them, I have been trying to nickname £50 notes 'an Alan' for a while now. Please help me to get this to catch on. 'They're £20 each,' you could say, 'or, special offer, I can do you three for an Alan.' Thanks in advance.
"Being trans is sad Being trans is horrid." Shut up. Being trans is great. Look. I've got inner peace and a fucking scythe.
Today at the convent: the nuns have been teaching me to scythe.
Afternoon of Edinburgh previews, Tom Cashman and Emma Holland. Both brilliant, Australia/Aotearoa have a lot of really strong comics at the moment.
what the fuck why does this @stupidtwink.bsky.social comic keep happening?
Jez San, founder of Argonaut, donated 2 million pounds to the conservative party in 2025. He was the biggest individual donor in Q1 of that year. Please, be informed before purchasing anything. You can emulate PS1 games on basically any device these days (even your phone) with ease.
LinkedIn just recommended me a job at a place called Crypto Banter, which is the two worst words in the English language.
I'm bringing my new show to Edinburgh for the full run! After last year's (award-winning!) debut, I've spent the last 11 months crafting a brand-new hour of comedy - and I think it's the best thing I've ever written. Book your tickets here: www.edfringe.com/tickets/what...
Off to perform on a queer panel show in Manchester! My first time doing a panel show and excited. Also because they're paying me enough to buy Control: Resonant when that comes out.
I've just been invited to do a podcast!!!!! By someone on LinkedIn I've never interacted with. Are you sure you want my perspectives on the games industry. Are you absolutely sure.
Crowd suggestion tonight involved Chris Barrie, and I made the mistake of mentioning what he's been blogging about lately.
I saw Bec Hill and John-Luke Roberts do previews today and obviously they were hilarious but also my first thought on lights up was "I'm glad I get to be alive at the same time as these artists."
Whilst we're doing Nolan takes. Why do people like The Dark Knight. It's not fun at all. "Oh the Joker is this complex villain" no he's not he's just your average Reddit nihilist. I've met loads of them they're the worst.
Manchester Academy seem to have an Access section, so now I am playing the fun mental game of "is my disability disabling enough to qualify for it?"
Last episode ended with Gleeson going "ha ha Tom is cross-dressing" which sucks but at least now I never have to watch Dave Hughes again. And I get to see Emma Holland live on Saturday! 🥳
Going through series 4 of TM Australia and on the plus side it has Emma Holland and Takashi Wakasugi, who I adore, but on the downside it has Dave Hughes.
It's impressive how bad Google is these days. I'm searching for an LGBT friendly nail salon in Leeds and literally on the first page it's recommending me someone in Mumbai.
I've been attending @alicefraser.bsky.social's writers' workshops for a few weeks now and it has been excellent for actually getting me to sit down and write and iterate and edit. For the first time ever I have overwritten and am having to actually trim down good stuff to get a new ten.
I was looking back over the Edinburgh Comedy Award winners and 1. How were there no women on those shortlists for so long and 2. This is the worst set of nominations I've ever seen, good lord. I hope Pappys are okay.
What level of racist is "ask chatpgt what Asian people look like"
I dont know if this is brazen or it has just become so normalized that people who use the stuff don't see it anymore but the text that opens the final paragraph on the right on the big slides for your sdcc presentation is WILD

I know that everything is propaganda for the military industrial complex these days. But you'd have thought as part of that they could make a single depiction of the army in any medium a positive or likable one.
It is, however, making it easier to narrow down Edinburgh shows to go to this year.
AI event flyers are ruining my life cause I didn't know I had so many friends with bad taste
Sometimes the most influential thing you ever experience is not the award winning treatise on the human condition, but some mid story about some guy that resonates with you at just the right time in your life, which allows YOU to create an award winning treatise on the human condition
I just read someone say "maybe some art is just meant to be an 8.5/10" and I felt a little spark in my brain. As a critic I am always evaluating what was amazing about something and what could be improved. But my expectation is never that a great work be a 10/10.
