Iran and Oman have reportedly agreed that all ships transiting Hormuz have to go through an Iran-controlled corridor, and are finalizing tolls of 3, 5, or 7%. This would close off the path outside Iranian waters the US encouraged ships to use during the MOU, then started bombing again to keep open.

IMHO, this is kind of a deceptive graph. That big spike in '14 is the shale revolution, combined with the then-existing export ban and a shortage of refinery capacity. The US is now a major exporter, so would be expected to have much higher inventories than before. The old baseline is deceptive.

Is everyone aware of the General Motors streetcar conspiracy? In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.

My computer just woke me up to tell me it's hungry. I'm not kidding 😂 During a long-running task, it noticed the battery was draining, set the volume to 100% using Computer Use, then opened Google Translate and hit "Listen" so I could hear it asking. Pardon my French, but what the fuck? 🤯

As a small business owner with a contracted warehousing solution, if my goods were in a Wildberries location, I'd personally be ordering 100% of my inventory right now and stashing it in whatever garages / sheds I can get access to. I'm sure many Russian small business owners are thinking the same.

The 'private firm' in Saudi is going to be Peter Thei's start currently building uranium enrichment in western Kentucky using laser cooling. A technology so dangerous Canada can't have it Thei's is the only US company doing uranium enrichment. So there's 1 possible firm even if it's not mentioned

It's even funnier/more incredible when you read the Hugging Face security incident report first. Their LLM-based detectors found out intrusion to their system and LLM-driven log analysis revealed the extent. They knew it was an AI but couldn't identify it & reported to law enforcement.

Still a trickle of ships getting through Hormuz, according to IMF Portwatch. Note that they don't account for AIS spoofing, so all post-conflict numbers should be expected to be higher. Clarkson Research estimates ~1,5M bpd is getting out, vs. the normal ~15M bpd.
