Some days it just boggles my mind that we have created so much economic theory to describe markets that are irrational when they are not being actively manipulated. Why do we give these theories credence and scientific weight?

Regardless of whether you think this is sensible, too little for councils without separate direct funding, damaging for rural councils, or whatever else, it is a complete nonsense without rent controls to protect tenants from landlords - the actual wealth hoarders - passing on tax rises to them.

The anthropomorphic robot thing mystifies me. I suppose the research into the kind of dynamic feedback required for balancing on two legs is useful, but the idea that we hyperfocus on building robots that can "plug in" to human roles on a like-for-like basis is just stupid.
