Just because it's a LLM / AI agent doesn't make it any different than any other program. If I fire up Metasploit and use it to hack a company, I can't say "Metasploit did the hacking, not me", so how is a defense of "the LLM did the hacking, not me" any better?
The Tories have selected a convicted former Neo-Nazi as a councillor. Here's why that reflects very poorly on Jeremy Corbyn.
The entire plan is to show angry dangerous trans people. I am not telling anyone to not be angry, to supress anger etc, i am asking mostly cis folks to maybe consider not promoting aggressive or confrontational responses to trans folks who are at greater risk.
If a member of staff approaches you “I am not discussing private information in a bathroom. If there is an issue, please speak to me discreetly outside.” “I need safe toilet access. What private option can you provide?” “I am not answering questions about my body, medical history or legal status”
From their scripts for Individuals - If another member of the public approaches you “I need privacy. Please leave me alone.” “I am not discussing this with you. Please get a member of staff.” “Do not block me or follow me.”

Getting a bicycle with a speedometer has been eye opening because now I know what speed they must be doing when I'm doing 20 on a residential street and a car roars past me at speed.
Incredible news - 27,000 acres, 274 crofts, 2 fish farms taken into collective ownership. www.thenational.scot/news/2643524...
Quotes: "during our period of study (1993-2024), mechanisms designed to regulate spending tended towards input control and short-term decision-making, struggled to support strategic investment and often failed to deliver sustained improvements in outcomes."

Yo Linkedin has categories for graphics design, user experience design, interaction design... but nothing for user testing. "UX research" is closest. We've gotten it all so so wrong.
UK computer people - where do you look for jobs these days? The websites I used to use all seem quite quiet, LinkedIn has stuff but is incredibly hard to use and spammy.
How exactly did Britain end up with platoons of horrible, spite-crazed middle aged men doing tours of university campuses trolling and insulting students, then running squealing in terror to the press when they were - quite reasonably - asked to fuck off
this rob liddle incident encapsulated british "free speech" pretty well www.theguardian.com/education/20...
this outrage cycle on bsky is the perfect example actually: open permissionless networks are MORE prone to misinformed outrage cycles than Big Tech Algorithms, not less! mu.social/profile/scoi...
Good lord I wish some of you could read on this text based social media website.
I think this is complex. We're seeing it with active travel too. The UK has an entirely objections-based planning system was already pretty broken, and only worked at all because it was a load of work to make an admissible objection. So I don't wholly blame the dept here. We need a better system.
🔴 NEW: The Scottish Government says the move was needed to tackle the "administrative burden" caused by the growth in AI-assisted objections to energy projects. Critics say it is a way to mute public opposition. Our latest: http://theferret.scot/ai-ban-emailed-objections-energy-projects
Often feels like some "research pioneers" have never forgiven the autistic community for trying to put some agency in our own hands

UK lawyerdom seems to have a fascinating belief that law exists somewhere outside of politics and therefore is firmly set and should not be discussed as a good or a bad.
Saying the words "protected belief" over and over again in place of an actual argument
"losing *more* votes to the Greens" is the absolutely key phrase here: Sturgeon does actually get it! The wing currently in the ascendence in the SNP are all absolutely convinced that the end of the BHA saved them, as opposed to SNP polling remaining flat from before collapsing it until this year
Nicola Sturgeon has warned John Swinney that the SNP risks losing more votes to the Scottish Greens under the party’s current policy direction 👇
Sturgeon remains one of the few leadership figures in 21st century mainstream UK politics to have treated women and left-wing voters as actual constituencies to be courted, rather than annoying groups that fealty is demanded of
so there's been this big Clear Channel digital countdown to the world cup billboard in Oakland for the last six months, except the world cup is over, and they haven't found someone new to buy the billboard space, so right now it just says: "-51 days till all eyes are on the Bay Area!"
It would be funny if WotC making a gritty adult d&d made that uncool again
452/ With the US strategic defeat by Iran, what are the long held assumptions that must be revised? "All the foundations of the unipolar world have vanished. " @policytensor sums up what we have learned since February. Hard to disagree with any of them.
Ah, yes, "weird". The type of weird where you can't touch rough surfaces and need amphetamines to get work done.
Make the climate extreme enough, and any older energy technology becomes intermittent. 🔌💡
