Indiana Jones and the Search for One-Eyed Willy's Ship. Come to think of it I would watch the heck out of that film.
Raiders of the Lost Ark came out in 1981, but was set in 1936 - a difference of 45 years. If they made the film today, the same time difference would mean it would be set in 1981.
I don't even know what an em-dash is, unless it's a hyphenated clause, which I do use a lot. If this means some joyless knob thinks what I write is actually the contents of a stociastic parrot then, well, I'm quite happy if they don't read it.
I don't do much on most socials, but I do get some food content bunged at me. Today, for some reason it's been bánh bột lọc lười day and I am very, very tempted to buy a lot of ingredients I will likely not use up to make a thing only I am going to be able to eat. Damn the algorithm.
I see C4 have now updated when Taskmaster Australia will be available - it's now Aug 31st, instead of July 13th.
Why yes, I’ll have a relisten just because you mentioned him, thank you. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand...

Ideal Yorkshire day content for Edinburghers.
The Edinburgh Yorkshire Society formed in 1893 by "independent and prosperous Yorkshiremen" in the city 🏵️ It reformed in Leith in 1929, 150 members singing "On Ilkla' Moor" to celebrate. In 1990 they sponsored the white rose mosaic laid on Rose Street, and in 1991 donated 2 benches to the street

For all the TERFs yelling about men interfering in women's sports, here's a clear case of male and racist interference. Will we hear a peep from the usual suspects? I doubt it. (Links are in French but you have auto-translate.) www.rtbf.be/article/quel...

I was thinking about doing something similar only my place would be a bit posher and called Wrasslighting.
Going to open up a chippy called The Chip of Theseus. Every week I replace one item on the menu with something slightly different – halloumi bites for mozzarella bites, etc. – until you're not sure whether we really still serve the same food we did last year
One day I'll go to the Chinese supermarket and just buy one of everything in the crisps and savoury snacks section.

Overnight, a masked bandit broke into our kitchen. Armed with opposable thumbs, he proceeded to sample everything on offer. I’d just visited the farmers market, so the menu was extensive. I can now share a highly specific peer-reviewed list of what this particular raider did & did not enjoy. 🧵

went for a slowish run at 7 this morning, and it was very warm out there already, and it had rained overnight - you'd have thought it would be fresh after that but no, it was sticky.
Open Studios time again at Coburg House! Visit me and 50ish others artists and makers in our studios in Leith, Edinburgh. I'll have new work, a samples & seconds sale and a demo of the hacked knitting machine - also a large installation in the stairwell. www.coburghouse.co.uk/whats-on#/op...
Looking forwards to Wes Andersen's adaptation of Howl.
Studio execs are going to want to adapt more poems for the big screen now
Worth watching this video that @tomscott.com did at Jodrell Bank a few months back: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrZy... - it does discuss some of the research that the telescope still partakes in, and the modernisations it has. It's not old tech, just an old location!
I cannot believe Jodrell Bank let me do this

So, The Odyssey. It is big, and loud, and rational. Very long. It's too big to easily process. Excellent casting. I have no desire to watch it again, but do not regret seeing it on the big screen at all.
Anyway, went on a boat, saw some bridges with dramatic skies. A good day.
Popped into Dune bakery in SQ this morning. Absolutely worth the queue, which was quicker than the one at Lannan.
So I'm sort of on a filled pasta thing right now. Butternut & ricotta last week, spinach & ricotta this week. Maybe I'm on a ricotta thing.
I would not eat them here or there I would not eat them anywhere I would not eat Soylent green, eggs and ham Because they're made from people, Sam-I-am.
That thing where you look at your watch and think it's half six so get up & feed the cats and have a cup of tea, and it's only when you go to fish the teabag out of the mug you see the oven clock is saying 5:45.
We're going on a boat on Sunday so it is guaranteed to rain at that point.
If you want Commonweath Games action it is available on BBC Alba, ann an Gàidhlig.
Huh, the version of Blade Runner shown on BBC4 a few weeks back has a narrative track. This might be the original cinematic release version. I thought they only broadcast Final Cut these days.
