When I was coming back to my Christian faith, I was lost as to what that could possibly look like as an unapologetic queer uninterested in the hate spewed by my fellow Christians. Truly, Dolly Parton was one person I looked to for a model of the kind of Christian I wanted to be. I’m very grateful.

I am indeed a professor. I read ugh, theory. I read a lot of history; articles and books. Its because the stuff I read for work is so dark, and intense that I need something to change the gears. So hell yes, I read absolutely trashy romance novels, and I read smut. We can do it all, I believe.

It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.

To a hammer everything looks like a nail etc, but I do think that gender is the first and primary hierarchical division of human beings, and that much of the passion of the transphobic project comes from transphobes (correctly) assessing trans people’s threat to all other hierarchies.

Almost a decade ago, I was very Special Interested in mushrooms and developed an organizing training framework based on mycelium. The core teaching was, people think the above-ground part (the mushroom) is the body of the organism, but that isn't the case. So too with movement. (cont)
