No Dog In The Fight

Living a good life in The Kawarthas 🇨🇦 Appreciates informed discourse. Despiser of spin. Stupidity: A willingness to remain ignorant.

correct are you serious about beating fascism or not? get in, we’re beating them in november you can be mad, you can be disappointed, but at the end of the day having someone with D in any and all seats is better than having someone with an R in them

I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

While under the auspices of law enforcement, this man was punished for performing an extra judicial execution. ICE agents are not only allowed but encouraged, by our own government, to murder innocent American citizens simply for the fun of it. Why does that distinction exist?

NEW from me: I think this is the perfect time to use Rachel Maddow’s oft-repeated phrase - ‘watch what they do- not what they say.’ Ignore Ellison's PR pitch, but look at what's happening at CBS News including directing reporters to add “facts” that did not exist. open.substack.com/pub/jennifer...

David Ellison can’t be trusted with CNN

We've already seen how Ellison has wrecked CBS. Don't fall for his PR push on CNN.

I do think its kind of undercovered how big the wind energy expansion is in Nova Scotia I think we have something like 2.8 GWs, and we're expecting to break ground on 1.2 GWs of onshore (some fraction of that in practice) by 2028 and calls for bids on leases up to 5 GWs starting this year

The In-N-Out Burger shooter comes from a family immersed in Trump propaganda. The shooter loved General Flynn, Elon Musk, and RFK Jr. He was pro-natalist and wanted to join ICE, but didn't have a college degree.

The shooter at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho that killed 3 people and injured 2 people is a Republican, white male. Shocked.

These are some of the people who have been "moved" off of food assistance in the wake of the Republican reconciliation law's unprecedented SNAP cuts. The immense hardship these families are now facing is not, in fact, "a pretty big win." www.nytimes.com/2026/07/20/u...

In November, no aid arrived. In December, a caseworker said to “hang in there” because renewals were months behind. In January, Ms. McDonald made 100 calls without reaching anyone, she said. In February, she discovered her case had been closed. She had submitted the wrong income statement, she later learned, and the state’s delays left her no time to fix it.

Four months into an appeal, Ms. McDonald, a cancer survivor who weighs 69 pounds, bustles to food banks, stretches ground turkey with oatmeal, and skips meals to feed three teenage boys. But grocery bills have left her behind on the rent, and she describes her worries as a mental tax, paid nightly on her pillow.

Rollins: "For those who love work and celebrate work and want people to work and not be on food stamps, it's a pretty big win when we've moved 5 million people off food stamps, y'all."
