While the McDonald’s CEO gets roasted for his awkward burger taste test... McDonald’s is among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps. And McDonald's CEO recently raked in $18.2M — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay. That should leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Yes waiter, I'll have a cup of tea, a scone, and if it's not too much trouble, perhaps some precedented times?
When you have an audience or a business you have to ensure that you always provide a lot more value to people than you extract from them. If you don't then, long term, it all breaks down. Young people I talk to today...they feel like the whole entire world has broken this contract with them.
Sure, dinner and a film is fine, but can we please normalize bookstore dates, cemetery picnic dates, museum dates, library dates, and stargazing dates?
I don't want to see Ai slop anywhere, but especially not in craft feeds. Impossible crochet in impossible rooms that look like the Sears catalog circa 1986.

Two memorials in the past week, both for people younger than me. My heart is heavy. But tea is steeping, family is out of the house, and I have a quiet moment to light a candle and do my own thing.
It seems to me like one thing AI would be terrible at is absolutely everything the Civilian Conservation Corps did.

All I want is a quaint château in the French countryside, a raging snowstorm, a crackling fire, a vintage copy of Victor Hugo‘s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a whistling kettle on the stove, an owl keeping watch, and a basket of emotional support croissants.

Surround yourself with the kind of people who find the Oxford comma to be illuminative, beautiful, and necessary.
An old, but very appropriate article, as well as one of the most pointed pieces of journalism I have ever read. theonion.com/god-angrily-...

If you feel powerless, you really should channel that energy into community strengthening and support. It can be as simple as searching "(your city)+mutual aid". Start there. The most valuable thing you can give is your time, volunteer for a reputable org and make a difference where you can.
It’s the perfect day to find a secluded cottage in the Scottish Highlands and go off the grid for a few years.
Two years ago I knit this beautiful, and very basic, hat. When I got the Embroidery on Knits book for my birthday, I needed something simple to play with, and that hat was the perfect blank canvas. The flowers are a delightful addition and my first real foray into knitwear embroidery.
I really believe that I should have to opt in to AI. I hate having it forced down my throat. "Do you want a robot to take over your brain? Click here if yes."
