Really unbelievable that HR/C-suite types cannot get past "bad management cannot be fixed with companywide policies".
Sheriff Witt's extremely unfunny tendency to lie about stuff in full display.
damn, if only y’all had a better track record around being honest about anything
The way people in this country talk about public safety is going to turn me into the joker.
holy shit they put cope cages on the oil refineries
Russia is erecting metal frames and nets around oil refineries as passive protection against drone attacks. The nets are designed to trigger incoming drones at a distance from critical equipment, reducing the effects of the blast wave and fragments. Even basic structures may partially limit damage.
MPD won't do anything until you get shot, and then it's to stand around eating snacks.
The suspected shooter is deceased. Seven people were transported to Hennepin Healthcare. One of those individuals died at the hospital. There was one individual who died at the scene. More information will be shared as they become available.
I was really hoping we would get through this year without another headline about a mass shooting in the Twin Cities. 1/5
KSTP: Multiple civilians dead after 6 people shot, including 2 officers, in downtown Minneapolis
The rampant abuse of these cameras by police ought to make more people understand how corrupt and abusive the police are in general. Flock cameras are simply the latest vector for their lawlessness
A growing epidemic of alleged police abuse of Flock's vast surveillance system has led Homer Glen to (for now) halt plate reader use within its borders. West Chicago, Channahon and the Will County sheriff all have officers on leave for alleged unauthorized searches of license plate-tracking data.
The statement AES made about 9/11 vs covid is disingenuous because one of those things was done on purpose and the other occurred due to negligence.
The year is 2078. The remains of several geometry-gimmick cities litter the desert sands. The Saudi king announces Polyhedra Hexagon City.
TIL that Saudi Arabia is planning to build a whole new downtown centered around a massive cube building that will measure 400mx400mx400m... I don't understand how that is physically possible newmurabba.com/en#DiscoverN...
In a total breakdown of order there is no guarantee that you can buy food with money and killing your neighbors for their bread is now a viable option to all.
I was actually already working on a piece about how the violent breakdown of society is both morally bad and situation that only produces losers. People are convinced that somehow they will be the one to “win” it, like they’re John Wick or something. But this is wrong.
Americans are united in believing it’s fine to murder certain people, they just don’t agree which people those are

Gonna just say FromSoft dialogue to the new hire so they leave me alone.
To be clear: “Johnny Depp Scrooge movie” sounds like a root canal
More data centers for a worse user experience isn't an easy sell. Musk and Altman running their mouths is just the cherry on top of why people are against these.
I would add to this that 'traditional' (non-AI) data centers were growing at a normal rate - but once the AI stuff got added in growth became exponential, not just with new data centers but driving up the cost of chips and other components for all our other stuff.
You can just call things whatever you want if you work in the Military Industrial Complex. "Precision" and "Future" are two of the biggest red flags.

I am extremely curious to see what the next game from rose engine will be. I would hate for SIGNALIS to be their one hit wonder.
People who have not looked at a cartridge comparison chart should probably not make any statements about guns "exploding" anyone.
This is like an entire category of political commentary that we can’t make anymore because of the gerontocracy.
Every infantryman in space is a "marine" and I don't like it. If anything, they're airborne.
