There’s a lot to agree with here, but the idea that we only continue to look to address the acute emergency situation and not invest in broader long-term #ClimateResilience just blows my mind. The old adage “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” applies here.

Severe flash flooding in Monmouth County. Normally a 45 minute drive took two hours. This isn't the shore. Flooding on many roadways. Too car-centric and too many parking lots and this is what you get.

Sensible advice about how to deal with the heat. I'd add a couple of things that might be helpful: 1. Drinking water doesn't actually cool you off. What cools you off is sweat. If you get dehydrated, you don't sweat. If you don't sweat, body temp rises and you get in trouble.
