This hero, Chappie James, died two days before I was born. He was a Republican and widely considered to be a potential VP to Reagan. He was black, and one of the first things Hegseth did was remove his picture.

I've been doing a huge study on the historical Jesus lately, pulling in academic books and journal articles, as well as trade books/popular books on the subject. Gotta say, no matter your religious persuasion (I'm agnostic), it's impossible to see the historical Jesus and not be impressed.

Win or lose, the fact that Hamilton has this election this close is big. If he pulls it off, he'll be the first Democrat elected Senator from Kansas since 1932...the longest Republican senatorial streak in the nation.

It won't make national news, but the Kansas democratic primary tonight was...interesting. It follows a national trend and should get the attention of the Democratic leadership. Corson was the establishment pick (and who I voted for). The more progressive Holscher won.

I actually don't think is far off from reality. 3B people in this world, and between people I know IRL and what TikTok has opened my eyes to. I think it's more common than we think.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

I think the biggest problem now is everyone jumps to the most maximal end of every issue. There’s no room for nuance or middle ground or understanding. Left, right, being fucking stupid and doubling down is the go-to move.

A lot of discourse since Tuesday hinges on idea that some politicians are owed a seat, it’s their turn & it’s problematic to not back them. & that’s so odd to me — because not only you have to wait for 88-year olds to deign to retire, but then there’s someone else waiting who’s owed & you can’t run?

Whenever I hear someone claiming that USAID was evil from a leftist perspective, I hear someone saying “yes, millions ARE dying because Musk and Trump killed USAID, but at least they’ll die free of American imperialism.” Notably it is never the people saying this who are dying.

this is pretty resounding indictment of the democratic establishment. from endorsing Cuomo to voting to confirm Trump nominees to tons of aid to Israel, people are fed up and I can’t blame them. My question is if this is a high water mark or the beginning of something brand new
