Democratic party. Y'all have so lost your way that you question that people WANT progressive candidates who are not part of the establishment and are not funded by the same entities that keep us in the horrible state we're in. What will it take for you to realize this is the way??

I really encourage people to help if they can, especially if adult swim has been influental to you. ATHF and Carey's performance as Frylock mean so much to me and it's broken my heart to see him struggle for so long. He is a vastly talented man and has been in poor health/finances for too long.

Whitney M Young Jr is often overlooked when we're talking big names of the Civil Rights Movement. He was head of the National Urban League and the ultimate "change from the inside" man. The other side to the younger militant Black activists. When they were in the streets, he was in the boardrooms

Today would be Whitney Young's 104th birthday. Part of the so-called "Big Six" of the Civil Rights Movement, Young was the executive director of the National Urban League...founded 1 year after the NAACP & advocates on behalf of economic and social justice, & the largest organization of its type

Just want to remind folks that this keeps happening. Burials of assumed-important ancients discovered to be women via genetic testing, after decades of them simply being assumed to be male. The patriarchy is incompatible with reality.

The #BronzeAge #UptonLovellShaman's burial in Wiltshire has long been considered an important religious figure & metalworker. It's been barely questioned someone of such status must be male. But now #aDNA analysis revealed that the body is in fact: a woman. 🏺 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Israel has been carrying out a genocide in Gaza for 80 years. And for 80 years, all any world "leaders" have ever done is talk about it. Please know when fascism or genocide shows up at your door, no one will help you either. All the world will do is talk about you while you and everyone you know...

“Between 2020 and 2025, people across the world lost an estimated 56 hrs of sleep per year on average because of high overnight temps, according to a recent analysis from the nonprofit Climate Central that was based on an existing sleep & temp model.”🧪🛟 @jackiefmogensen.bsky.social

“Still, any amount of lost rest is worrying. Low levels of sleep have been linked to worse mental health outcomes and higher rates of conditions such as heart disease and obesity. Recent research even suggests a lack of sleep can exacerbate intrusive thoughts.”

Daytime highs often get the headlines, but overnight temperatures are rising twice as fast in the U.S. And that nighttime heat is losing us sleep. 🧪 By @jackiefmogensen.bsky.social. Graphics by our excellent graphics intern Sani Sharma.

I often think about the fact that the early enslaved Africans were literally worked to death. They weren't "taken care of" so that they could work for a long time. They were worked to death, disposed of, and replaced. Nowhere is livable because they don't care if we die. We're tissues.

“It really is a challenge for you to afford any sort of rental property, and it becomes even more difficult when you start to add in children.”

I let someone in my job search group talk me into writing mysteries about my accessibility work. So now I have a detective that is a little Miss Marple but more Miss “Ma, why you ain’t got a ramp at the FRONT of the building?”
