The broader point is that databases are easy to (willfully?) misinterpret. Representing these numbers as evidence of fraud is dishonest. Fraud = financial *gain*, and so requires data on "recipients" not "database entries." Nearly half of Elon's entries aren't recipients.

I don’t have a definitive source on this yet but it looks like NSF review panels have been canceled. Sixty-some years ago, Eisenhower transformed higher education because he viewed a science education gap as the single greatest threat to national security. This is absolutely an act of sabotage.

At $190 per person per year, US foreign aid costs less than a Netflix subscription. It's one of the key ways to help people in dire need worldwide. Walking away from that signals a retreat from global responsibility.
