the irony of publishing a report saying these groups are funded by outside actors and misrepresenting themselves as rights groups- right before being blackmailed by an outside actor and saying that these groups are actually rights groups

So the key findings of Amnesty's report was that these anti-rights groups have massive funding, that it comes largely from far-right christian groups in the US, and that they're abusing UK charity law to misrepresent themselves as pro-rights organisations.

if you got taken in by Platner: 1) center the experiences of those he hurt 2) admit you were wrong 3) spend the next few days figuring out how to not get taken in by a guy doing *exactly* the same thing next time, because there will be guys doing *exactly* the same thing for the rest of your life

Imagine if you allowed yourself to feel the full weight and consequence of every sexual assault you have ever experienced. Imagine what would happen to you if you tried to get them recognized by others as serious and meaningful. Lol. Lmao.

One thing I don’t think men understand is that rape and assault are so ubiquitous—and so perpetually immune from consequence or recognition—that many women learn to talk about these incidents as of they’re mere inconveniences. We are not allowed to treat them with more gravity.

I don’t understand how people can run for office knowing they have insane baggage and/or crimes. Like I spent the entire campaign expecting AIPAC to somehow dig up my middle school livejournal fanfic account. I prepared my family for it. I’m still amazed it didn’t happen.

The sooner the ENTIRE game industry manages to unionise the better, I say it all the time but holy crap the way workers are treated here is atrocious. Be a part of a companies best ever selling game and fired just a few days later, this behaviour should be criminalized

Here's why you should care about the trans athletes case today: Because if discrimination on the basis of gender identity doesn't violate equal protection, trans people can be segregated, outed, denied medical care, denied housing, denied jobs, and excluded by the government.

This is what they wanted They looked at their Black neighbors and said "fuck you, even it costs me" And they voted accordingly This one of the bleakest, most recent, examples of the idea that republicans AREN'T voting against their interests, you just didnt understand what their interests are

Awful: After SCOTUS ruling, Trump is free to deport thousands of Haitians from deep red Clark County, Ohio. It may now take a big economic hit. Oh, well. If you vote for the guys that lied in your faces so viciously about immigrants, this is what you get. New piece: newrepublic.com/article/2124...

The entire city of Chicago: [trying to have a nice Memorial Day at the lake] The cops: HELLO. WE ARE HERE TOO. DO YOU LIKE OUR HELICOPTER. DO YOU LIKE OUR HELICOPTER. DO YOU LIKE OUR HELICOPTER. DO YOU LIKE OUR HELICOPTER. DO YOU LIKE OUR HELICOPTER. DO YOU LIKE OUR HELICOPTER. DO YOU LIKE OUR H

Hi, spider expert here! Kyle Rittenhouse was bitten by a Brown Recluse (loxosceles reclusa). Unlike widow bites, recluse bites don't affect the nervous system. Instead, they are a cytotoxic venom, destroying local tissues at the site of the bite.. So how bad could this get? Well...
