Education should be a passport - to work, to life, to further study. But too many young people are still being shut out. Everyone deserves an education that matches their high ambitions, not a one‑size‑fits‑all straitjacket. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

We must end this one-size-fits-all approach to education

Our school system has become too single-minded and is stopping children reaching their potential, says the education secretary

Lack of regulation of the property management sector has left companies with a license to print money. I hear far too often from my constituents about unscrupulous behaviour from property management companies, with opaque processes, poor or non-existent communication, and extortionate charges.

Yesterday saw the launch of our Farming Roadmap. I greatly welcome the focus on domestic food production, buying British, and the importance of honest food labelling, something which I, together with colleagues from the Labour Rural Research Group, have been campaigning on strongly this year.

📈 3,008 more teachers in secondaries & special schools 📈1,646 more teachers in colleges 📈Trainee teachers up 13% 📈 Teacher pay up 9.5% 📈 Record investment in schools If standing up for state schools makes me a spiteful class warrior, I’ll wear it with pride. #PMQs

Kemi lost her head at PMQs - and afterwards too. It's not the first time. She's compared me to a Gestapo officer. I wonder what it is about a working class woman driving record investment in state schools by ending private schools' tax breaks that the Tories hate so much.

Bridget Phillipson MP@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social · 2mo ago

The Gestapo marched hundreds of thousands of innocent people to their deaths. I've ended private schools' tax breaks to invest in state schools. No responsible leader makes vile comparisons like this. Kemi Badenoch is not fit to be Prime Minister.

A quote from a Kemi Badenoch interview in the Spectator, comparing Bridget Phillipson to a Gestapo officer.
