Absurd decision by the Court of Appeal to uphold the ban on direct action via the proscription of Palestine Action as "terrorism". The idea that support for a protest group is now punishable by up to 14 years in prison make a mockery of our democratic rights. A dark day for British democracy.

Rutger Bregman is an *actual* climate denier. Not a metaphorical one. He's pumping out scripts using a Claude Pro subscription that's running on Elon Musk's filthy GHG intensive methane fumes choking a community in Memphis, and he just refuses to acknowledge or even address it. Dude doesn't care.

Twenty years ago, climate denial was a problem of the right. Today, Al denial is a problem of the left, and the consequences could be even more disastrous.

I honestly think the next 5-10 years could be some of the wildest in human history. And the people who should be sounding the alarm (the journalists, the academics, the "In this House We Believe Science Is Real" crowd) are in denial.

UK gilt yields have hit an 18-year high because bond markets fear Labour might elect a slightly more left-wing leader. When financial markets seek to constrain democratic choice, that is not economic discipline. It is political power, exercised without a ballot. www.cnbc.com/2026/05/13/g...

'Bond markets on edge' as King Charles sets out fragile UK government's agenda

U.K. gilts and bonds faced heavy selling pressure in response to the latest 'Starmer drama', as the prime minister faced down rivals ahead of the King's Speech.

It’s also worth remembering racist hate group Advance is funded by Australia’s taxpayer-funded “Antisemitism Envoy” Jillian Segal — paid to promote “social cohesion” — and her husband John Roth. She is still refusing to provide any meaningful response... theklaxon.com.au/jillian-sega...

Amazing post by @ausmmt.bsky.social demonstrating that serious alternative economic analysis exists and is ready and waiting in the wings to replace the mainstream. Just how the (entrenched orthodox) system will fall is not clear but it will. We need these alternatives nearby when that happens.

The Canberra Bubble keeps treating this "cost-of-living crisis" like an unpredictable weather event. It’s a Ceremonial Lie. This is a structurally generated Stagflation Trap. And we caught it on the Godley Terminal 47 days before the banks priced it in. 1/10 🧵👇

This is an unbelievably weak response from the chancellor to the enormous bill hikes facing households in the UK. Monitoring the situation? These lukewarm words show the government simply do not understand the scale of the cost of living crisis. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

'Please, you don't have to have your hand on me' Watch the moment ITV News' Peter A Smith was grabbed by a Reform UK staffer after being told to move on from his line of questioning while interviewing the party's new Scottish leader, Malcolm Offord

Good morning. A regular reminder: a tiny few hoard staggering wealth and own much of the media, while millions struggle to survive. That’s not an accident. It’s a choice made by those in power. Tax wealth. Fund public services. Build an economy for everyone - not the 1%.
