The Democratic primary for governor of Wisconsin is a really great example of why America needs to switch to ranked-choice voting in primaries. As of now it looks like the winner of the race will prevail with <40% of the vote! No good reason not to switch ahead of 2028.

I remember not that many years ago feeling that rainbow stickers were becoming a bit gauche, and now they’re such a little note of reassurance, it’s wild how it’s changed so fast. Symbols matter, turns out.

Obviously this is a dipshit opinion. But since I sometimes see people on the left rolling their eyes about those signs, I just want you all to know that the other night some lost Black teens came to our house after taking the wrong bus and we were able to get them home. Why’d they pick us? Signs.

Vance: People hang out those hideous signs in their yard that say, "in this house we believe blah blah blah blah blah. You know, love is love, science is science, whatever. No person is illegal." That sign is such a disgusting butchering of the Nicene Creed

If you watch the Obama Library, the World Cup, and the Knicks parade this afternoon -- and nothing else -- you can actually see the America we're supposed to be at age 250

There were 147K+ votes cast in the contested open PA-03 primary last month which Chris Rabb won, way more than these races. I wonder if NYC incumbents don't know how to turn out votes because victory (local and statewide) is assured.

I'm sorry, but the Democratic establishment doesn't get to say "these are low turnout primaries, they don't mean anything." Ritchie Torres, who unlike Espaillat and Goldman, *trounced* his primary challenger got a *total* of 24k votes. Chevalier got 33k Valdez got 38k Lander got 55k

I don’t know man, who is “the Democratic Party” if it’s not the voters?Democratic voters choose candidates, not party leaders. And party leaders need to listen to what voters are telling us - and right now they are demanding our party be bolder.

I say this with no ill will or animosity: if you hate the Democratic Party, then please don’t run for our nomination. Don’t use our resources. Don’t rely on our volunteers. Don’t use our infrastructure. Don’t ask Democrats to invest their time, money, and energy in your campaign.

One thing about Pelosi as an establishment leader: she wouldn’t be whining with this “how dare you run for our seats” stuff. She’d be trying to convert and make the new electeds work for the establishment.

Michelle Obama: "No one has the right to sit in judgment of who is American enough. And that's why, folks, we simply don't have the luxury or time to be cynical or complacent."

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was an anti-fascist German Lutheran pastor who opposed Hitler and the Nazi Party so effectively that they murdered him in 1945. He is only a bad guy if you literally spend all your time on far-right, neo-Nazi websites and have pickled your brain in fascist group chats.

Rep. Brandon Gill: "We particularly need the left to tone down the rhetoric ... somebody is gonna listen and believe they are the next Dietrich Bonhoeffer and act on that and that's what we're seeing here."

"They’re going to have to fire him. No amount of HR speak will have him retract what he said," one CBS staffer just told me, adding: "For an anti-woke crusader, this is pretty woke of [Bari] to accuse Pelley of after firing the entire leadership of his show and two correspondent colleagues."

Dylan Byers reports that Scott Pelley had a meeting with CBS News leadership today and the two sides didn't find common ground, making it likely he'll either resign or be fired.

Also, Pelley says Bari Weiss asked him to make an apology for creating a hostile work environment.
