In 1996, Congress imposed fines on undocumented immigrants. For 30 years, the government did not enforce those laws, and they were basically irrelevant. Enter Trump, and the US government is now fining dishwashers and delivery drivers more than rich friends of the President who stole billions.

NEW: CBP is shopping for a contractor to track down people the US has deported to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala and collect unpaid immigration fines — debts that can top $1.8 million a person.

Cornyn: "There's nothing we could do to rein in the president" Think about that America... A sitting US Senator acting like he cannot do a fkng thing about Trump, while he continues to vote to do nothing about Trump.

It’s surreal watching the Trump Crime Syndicate dismantle every aspect of our Government The capitulation of so many for greed and power is pathetic Trump has corrupted every agency every beaucratic norm and the Republican Party has endorsed this complete corrupt makeover of our democracy

It’s not impotence of system. It’s a coup by one half of this nations political parties in pursuit of single party state. No system is immune to traitors.

Pretty convenient that Trump gets immunity from IRS audits for the year where he made, by far, the most money of his entire life in shady deals all over the globe. His should get a special “Trust me, bro” tax form from the IRS to submit.

That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?

USA TODAY Opinion@usatodayopinion.usatoday.com · 2d ago

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.

Most of the corruption perpetrated by the Trump admin would not be possible without the complicit enabling of the Republican majorities in the House and Senate. The only way to put any check and balance on this out of control regime is to vote them out in November.

FYI: Blanche rescinded the ORDER establishing the slush fund, not the underlying “settlement.” The settlement says any changes must be agreed to by ALL parties, not just Todd. This “rescission” isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

one of the many things about biden that pissed off our society's elites is that his administration had started - in a pretty small-bore and limited way - prosecuting the people who had defrauded the PPP program and that happens to include a huge % of small business tyrant types

Kirk Rudell@rudell.bsky.social · 3d ago

Shouldn’t be shocked at any lie RFK Jr tells, but he whined to Dana Bash that businesses were shut down during the pandemic “with no just compensation.” There was an almost trillion dollar PPP loan program, and his organization got millions from it, none of it paid back, to make payroll.

Disgusting that ANY Republican Senator would vote for Blanche knowing he has made it clear he is the "President's lawyer" and not the lawyer for the people of the United States. I detest every damn one of them for having no integrity.

It's absolutely insane we've somehow let the Covid recriminations debate become like "why didn't we reopen in person schools before there was a vaccine" and not "why did none of the trump guys go to jail for stealing PPE from New York hospitals in March 2020"

It is expected to cost roughly $8,500. It made its public debut June 7, when President Claudia Sheinbaum drove a prototype onto a stage near Mexico City, and manufacturing targeted for early 2027 at a proposed assembly site in Puebla. Charging from a standard household outlet is part of the plan

Since RFK Jr. is claiming covid was fake again, I'm going to remember the lady who had to watch her toddler die outside of an ER in India because they didn't have room to admit her.

Epstein ran a horrific child trafficking ring that the President and his friends participated in. Fauci asked you to stand six feet apart so your grandparents wouldn’t die alone in a nursing home. Let’s be for real here. We get midterms are coming, but attacking Fauci is over.

Trump is spending… -$95M for “D.C. Beautification,” including $5M to paint bronze horses gold -At least $300M to construct his ballroom -Nearly $15M to repaint the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Meanwhile, millions of Americans can’t afford groceries, gas, or healthcare. Priorities.

Whenever a frontier lab AI CEO says that AGI will create a utopia, I play out the following thought experiment; imagine the Trump administration had a computer that could answer any question correctly. Would that world be a utopia? Is the lack of AGI what prevents our world from being a utopia?

My parents have just spent an hour in the garden talking plants, birds, old times and food. Few things could make me happier. They usually re-fight their usual conflicts endlessly and pointlessly.
