So yesterday I completed a personally significant educational milestone, my younger child learned that she was accepted into her dream college, and i finally saw with my own eyes that my older child’s health has finally turned a truly hopeful corner. Stop acting like it’s all fucking over, ok?
The Democratic Party will either be taken over by leftists with no relationship to corporate donors, a desire to fight fascism, and a relationship with the base or there will be a new party altogether. That’s the situation and the party apparatchik who think otherwise are fooling themselves.

Liberation is a collective effort, not an individual one. An individual might stand as a symbol of liberation, but it is still a collective effort. This is the through line of the histories of liberation symbolized in this show: the only way through is together and we will be stronger for it.

Been reading those “advice to 30 year olds” posts going round this place and I’m going to counter all the “call your mom” notes with the advice that saved my life: it is your mother’s responsibility to love and believe you and if she doesn’t and won’t then walk away. Your one and only life awaits.
I want our young people to know that there is a path forward, that a better world is possible. I don't want them to give up, to become cynical. They deserve to be young and full of optimism. They are owed a world that supports and sustains optimism.
I want those of us who are getting into our middle-aged years and beyond to understand that as cynical and sad as we might feel, we have a responsibility to ensure that those who come after us have the energy to go on, to be creative in their problem-solving, to believe change is possible.
