But Trump does not permit that, so they are stuck doubling down on failure.

Neither is it the job of Congressional leadership to set the ideological standards. The Members who elect the leaders don’t want that. Though maybe there needs to be such a position in the modern media era.
Maybe the fundamental question of the ME-SEN election is if Mainers remain comfortable being repped by someone who routinely laments the consequences of her own actions. Of course key to that is how widely it's understood that what Susan Collins says and does are two different things. #MEpolitics
