NYC for Abortion Rights is proud to endorse the campaign for the Park Slope Food Coop to boycott Israeli products. We urge Coop members to register and attend the May 26 General Meeting and vote YES on the boycott.
On Fri night, Brooklyn court staff forced a woman to give birth inside the courtroom. Per public defenders, she gave birth in handcuffs, unable to reposition herself, unable to pick up her infant. The men who’d shackled her looked on. The judge lauded the birth of a ‘beautiful baby’ on the record.

MIFE UPDATE: SUPREME COURT PAUSE (May 4th 2026) The Supreme Court has temporarily paused Friday’s Fifth Circuit’s order restricting Mifepristone by mail and telehealth.
MIFE UPDATE: A federal court has ruled that Mifepristone — one of the two medications used in medication abortion (“the abortion pill”) — can no longer be mailed. This applies nationwide. For now, mifepristone cannot be mailed and must be dispensed in person.
Reminder! This is tomorrow at noon at Ridgewood Commons! We will, as always, be covering misoprostol-only abortions, and will also discuss yesterday's ruling (amongst many other things). Bring a friend!
We heard that "progressive" Councilmember Gale Brewer is considering changing her vote on 175-B (she abstained in the first round). Give her a quick call TODAY (before 5pm) to demand she vote NO on 175-B so that the mayor's veto holds! 212-873-0282
IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR! We are once again asking you to help us fundraise for our friends at @nyaaf.bsky.social, New York's only abortion fund. Buy some cool merch designed by us and give NYAAF your money!! www.bonfire.com/store/nycfar...
Mayor Mamdani vetoed 175-B! Supported by Zionist institutions, 175-B seeks to prevent pro-Palestine protests at schools. The Mayor’s veto comes after a broad coalition of pro-Palestine, Jewish, education, labor, repro, and progressive orgs fought for months against this bill and similar proposals.
Major victory for the rights of students and education workers in NYC!! Huge shoutout to @peoplesplannyc.bsky.social and all of the educational groups who have been organizing so hard against 175-B.
VICTORY! We applaud @mayor.nyc.gov for vetoing Intro 175-B & standing for free speech rights & safety. 100+ orgs & unions & thousands of NYers made it clear: yes to our rights & #NoTo175B. Let's keep the pressure up! @council.nyc.gov must vote NO & sustain veto. Act now: tinyurl.com/noto175b
Got two minutes today? Keep urging state leadership to nix the buffer zone proposals! These proposals would make demonstrating or *preparing to demonstrate* (i.e. just hanging out) outside places of worship a Class E felony.
Super quick and easy action you can take today against the NYC buffer zone bill 175-B, which would curtail protest at educational facilities (including college campuses): actionnetwork.org/letters/stop...
Stop NYC Intro 175-B and Protect the Right to Protest
New York City Council just passed two bills that could restrict where you’re allowed to protest – or even gather – but the fight isn’t over, and there’s still a real chance to stop one of them. At a t...

We are meeting with a bunch of state reps this week — keep making these three calls daily! Make it clear New Yorkers OPPOSE buffer zones.
Save the date! Our next infoshare will be Sunday, May 3 at Ridgewood Commons. Leave with empowering knowledge on abortion pills, self-managed abortion, and the state of pregnancy criminalization in the country. Masks will be required and provided. No registration required. See ya there!
🚨 ACTION ALERT 🚨 @speakermenin.bsky.social @ericdinowitznyc.bsky.social just passed 2 bills that restrict protest BUT we can still defeat 1 of them. We demand: @mayor.nyc.gov: Veto Int 175-B! @council.nyc.gov: Sustain the veto! Join us 4/16 @ 12PM, City Hall #NoTo175B RSVP: tinyurl.com/rallyNo175b
NEW: Our grassroots coalition statement on the passage of Intros 1-B and 175-B: tr.ee/statement
New Yorkers gathered on the steps of city hall today to say NO to buffer zones, NO to censorship, NO to empowering the cops to violently policing protest they disagree with. @nyclu.org @aqeny.bsky.social @nycforabortion.bsky.social @legalaidnyc.bsky.social @palestinelegal.bsky.social
Councilmembers are spreading a lot of misinformation about Intros 1-B and 175-B, the two "buffer zone" bills that are slated to be voted on this afternoon. The bills will not combat antisemitism or any form of hate, and will endanger New Yorkers already disproportionately targeted by the NYPD.
Electeds should not be prioritizing the interests of foreign real estate companies violating human rights over their own constituents. Yet by supporting Int. 1-B, these 35 NYC councilmembers are doing just that.
🚨 CALLS TO MAKE TODAY BY 5PM. City Council will be voting on these bills Thursday.
Keep making these calls today! We have til Thursday to stop these bills.
One hour left to make these calls today! It is imperative everyone call these councilmembers to let them know that they have been duped: 1-A and 175-B are NOT hate crime prevention measures. They are designed to prevent forms of speech that the speaker disagrees with.
Join us with the NYCLU & dozens of community organizations to stand against City Council's proposed "buffer zone" bills that would prevent protests against the sale of #StolenPalestinianLand outside places of worship, or for divestment from war profiteers outside educational facilities.

SCOOP: Planned Parenthood of Greater New York—an affiliate facing budget shortfalls—is selling its Manhattan health center, management told staff today. Plan is to close the Bleecker St clinic, where PP has operated for three decades, and move staff and patients to the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn
Some Roe anniversary mind expansion.....
🗣️ Personhood is NOT “a strategy to ban abortion.” It is a strategy to *redefine the relationship between pregnancy-capable bodies and the state* And it is WORKING because Repro lawyers and advocates are so myopically focused on abortion!
ATTN: TEXANS! Repro action alert! The Afiya Center is organizing a campaign to demand #txlege release maternal mortality data from '22 and '23 -- after the Dobbs decision. Fill in your address and the form auto-sends to your state reps + health officials!

I know folks largely mean well. But nothing tells me we have different goals more than “Roe is the floor.” What do I mean by that?
Reposting our guide from November about what New Yorkers (and most in blue states) can do to protect access to abortion under Trump! More details in thread and at nycforabortionrights.carrd.co. Share information, not panic ❤️
