IT by day, Improv Comedy by night. Lover of e-bikes, good food and wine, family and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Looks like I’m going to be on TVNZ Breakfast this morning, promoting the $42 Seasons Pass at the Covert Theatre in Ponsonby. Access to over 50 Improv Comedy shows is a lot of opportunities to laugh for less than $50!

There are about 15,000 jobs advertised today and... - 174,000 people officially unemployed - Another 144,000 people who want more hours - A further 80,000 potential jobseekers (underestimate) This is a failure of laissez-faire economic management on an absolutely tragic scale.

I won an award at Sundance years ago and Sam Neill, whom I did not know, tweeted to me “we’re all so proud of you, sweetheart”. I can’t even express what that meant to me. That our most beloved national treasure, a man I worshipped, would take the time to write to me!

Why is Winnie and the Matua’s brand of politics landing this year more than previous years? They have a track record of doing shitty things this term and yet they’re riding high in the polls. What the??

Facebook's deleted this feature, but what it calls "referencing" was the potential for the wholesale theft, & abuse of all public images on Instagram, which no one signed up for. A constant reminder that this company is built on founder who continues to believe users are, in his words, "dumb fucks".

As I said in this explainer, people are already using third party AI tools to mess with public images (deepfakes or otherwise). Meta is just making it part of everyday life, further increasing ease and access of these tools (without consent of users). #nzpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/busines...

NZ media outlets treat this as a political issue. It's not. It's an EXISTENTIAL issue. Bernard Hickey continues to do the Lorde's work in quantifying the depths of Aotearoa's homeless crisis, and we should all be ashamed. free to read link - I think. thekaka.substack.com/p/the-govts-...
