Can't get numb to this: The United States is stuck in a war it started, cannot end, and may further escalate to no avail, having dismantled its diplomatic apparatus, depleted its military stockpile, and destroyed its credibility. A historic strategic mistake harming millions in many different ways.

Idk, maybe it's just me slowly pupating into a beautiful old man butterfly, but when people say things feel "off" now, this is kinda what i'm talking about. this is just really shocking stuff, and if you said it even during the Bush II admin, you would be out of politics, out of a job, etc.

eccentric wealthy family dynasties were the backbone of local newspapers and sports teams for a hundred years in this country. were they remotely laudable as humanitarians or community leaders? no. were they better than the bloodless ultrarich freaks in charge now? kinda. what's my point? no idea
