I'm so burnt out from AI era velocity, slop posts, bots and the attention economy, that I've recently got a balance phone. It's black & white, doesn't allow social, and has reduced motion on by default. It's wonderful. But actively avoiding being online does leave me feeling weird about my job.

@acemarke.dev Crazy idea but I wonder if it would make sense to have a compiler for selectors that automatically memoizes, like how React Compiler. So you don't have to manually optimize e.g. with `createSelector`. Is this something you've thought about before?

@en-js.bsky.social 👋 If you were building an SPA today in React (e.g. a dashboard), how would you do state management? Imagining that much of the state needs to be shared by many components. Context + React Compiler? 1 or many useSyncExternalStores? State library? Etc.

The problem with being a person who is good at something like content operations, is that if I do my job well, everything runs smoothly and my work is invisible. I'm not particularly career-minded, and just like things to be good, but I wish for this type of impact was more valued.

@ped.ro 👋 I love floating notes in Raycast, but I'm constantly confused as to what has focus: - When notes has focus, cursors still appear in other applications. - When notes has focus, the menu bar isn't dimmed so it looks like another app is focused. I'm curious if this has come up before?

AI has meant prolific CLIs now ship updates daily, which leads to update fatigue. if you have a CLI telling me every single day that my CLI is out of date, you're doing something wrong leave me alone or update in the background

Tonight in the ai reading group i was reminded of something that happened in 2006 after I dropped out of college, when I was living in a run-down old house next to jb alberto's in rogers park with a bunch of dudes. it was, as you can imagine, not clean.

Check out this productivity hack I just unlocked! Instead of jumping right into building the thing, you first write some stuff down about the thing. Bullet points ideally. Then you send that "plan" to people (yes! slow, human brains) and they give you feedback. Bullet points ideally. 1/3

@tkdodo.eu 👋 I’m curious what your go-to solution is for global UI/client state manangent in React. Perhaps Zustland judging by your blog? Trying to pick what to use alongside React Query for the new GitButler SPA.
