I'm amazed that only 25% of male primary teachers have had negative comments about being male and a primary teacher. I've had quite a lot, often disguised as "banter" I'd have bet my house on this result being 50%+

Today is Venn Day, in celebration of the mathematician John Venn, born on this day in 1834. To commemorate the occasion, here’s a poem in the form of a Venn Diagram.
This is the stance of the upper echelons of the NEU too. They're just clever enough to know not to say it out loud (apart from Kebede that time).
Diane Abbott here speaking at a Stop Some Wars rally, calling Putin's continuing brutal war against Ukraine "the NATO campaign against Russia". FFS. youtu.be/SMBjoiMskxA?...
Yes - this is exactly the nonsense I’m talking about. There’s no good evidence that the dyslexic creativity distribution is not the same as the non-dyslexuc one. This means we should definitely not treat dyslexic people as stupid but also that claiming they have special powers is simply woo.
Just putting it there: the last week has shown how Bluesky has grown into the most reliable, noise-, bot- and BS-free resource for anyone interested in football governance and politics. The coverage of Fifa's and Infantino's debacle has been fantastic. Size isn't everything.
Mrs Alderson Chatham Grammar She knew how I ticked. I was lazy AF at school but she managed to get me to actually try.
Who was YOUR great english teacher (if you had one)? For me it was Hugh Epstein at Richmond college (RUTC). I hope he's well, wherever he is!
"No UEFA national teams will participate in any FIFA competition for so long as these proposals remain alive, unless this proposal has been abandoned in its entirety and binding assurances have been given that FIFA will never again open its governance or competitions to private ownership".
Statement on behalf of UEFA and its 55 national associations
UEFA and its national associations will not participate in FIFA competitions.

This is surprising and I am very pleased. FIFA has got to where it is by Infantino effectively paying poorer nations enough money to vote for him and do as they're told. Some of the smaller and poorer UEFA nations must have been very tempted by the £40m being offered to them by Infantino.
The vote was 55-0.
Congratulations to Spain on winning the last ever World Cup.
Just out of interest, do any of the people on my timeline talking about apprenticeships have any experience of being an apprentice or taking one on?
Has anyone asked why each FA needs to get the same amount? Why is FIFA’s cash delivery system the same no matter the need of the FA? What for instance does for example the Guam FA do with $40m? This is clearly not a system fit for any genuine purpose. It simply allows the incumbent to lavish gifts.
The question for any serious new reform is how you will avoid this doom loop. Burnham’s answer is, I think, ‘local employers’. To which my checkmate is the employer-led local-consortium diplomas of 2008. Next move please, grand master.
I fear for what I call The Inevitable Doom Loop of Vocational Education: - it starts off hard to get parity of esteem - loads of kids fail - it’s made easier - it’s seen as a doss and schools lump kids in to game outcomes - numbers drop - it gets cancelled
Bill Oddie joins the Ray Wilkins Club in that everyone I know who met him said that he was a brilliant human being.
I’m so sad Bill Oddie left us. He was sick for some time and I wrote to him. He auditioned me for The Pembroke Revue in 1963 and I stepped into his roles for The Edinburgh Festival when the Cambridge Footlights went to the West End. We watched England win the World Cup together at Wembley in ‘66.
How do you unleash gates? Surely you open gates? Is he going to set the gates on us? Are these dangerous gates?
Nonce goggles have no place in decent society. They should be banned outright from our nation.
This utter muppet of a conservative Canadian politician in New Brunswick forgot to remove the LLM text from his floor speech and read it out loud.
put on MLS last night to give it a chance after the world cup and this happened in the first 20 mins lol
Inter Miami 0-[1] Chicago Fire - Rocco Ríos Novo own goal 18'
Something that may be of interest of those who followed back when Twitter was good. I am very much an open book, and when I had difficult years, including one that was pretty much unbearable, I was honest about it. If you look through my profile for posts about "school" and "class" in the past...
Good pupil behaviour.
This disingenuous commentary doesn’t help anyone. Frauds start unravelling pretty quickly. That you apparently cannot afford to put your oven or treat yourself is quickly undermined by the question “so why are you spending £50 per week on petrol?” Then, it turns out, she has an agent and /1
Elaine in this article "can't remember the last time she used her oven" but also spends £200 a month on petrol (so driving probably ~50 miles a day?) (she's also a professional old person; she was on Good Morning Britain last year, and then also at the Nov budget, and the year before lmao)
I'm pretty sure that for a long time, "Flat Earth Societies" at universities weren't in the slightest bit about the flat earth theory and were instead a social group for people who liked getting pissed. It was at mine, at least.
Since when did we start accepting “flat earth” as an opinion? It’s not an opinion, it’s a delusion. It’s wrong, easily disproven, and just plain stupid. We’re helping no-one by coddling these idiots.
