you should have basic knowledge of sex hormone endocrinology if youre on hrt or want to b. this sounds hard? like wouldnt i have to go to medical school? if you have a defense of professional integrity on your tongue this means you havent been disappointed yet but you dont have to learn the hard way
New conversion "therapy" ban signed into law in Colorado alongside an executive order barring any state funds going towards conversion "therapy." Happy Pride!
Had to do a double take when Maxine described herself as a "lapsed-catholic disaster transsexual" in Ch. 32 of @badambulist.bsky.social's "When You Fell From Heaven." As far as I can tell, Shon Faye was the first to use it to describe herself in "Love in Exile." Love it.
We have published the following update to our article following an email response from the New York Times. Trans News Network has a policy against platforming bigotry. As such, we have declined to publish the Times' statement which included blatant transphobia.
In this in-depth interview Billie Jean Sweeney — a former editor at The New York Times — details how the paper shifted towards openly promoting anti-trans hatred, why this was directed from the very top, how some staff pushed back and the immense damage done by the NYT legitimizing bigotry.
A really sad follow-up to this story — Alexis Erlinmeyer, one of the trans federal intelligence workers who was fired, has died of a pulmonary embolism. She was 31. Her family is burying her under her deadname, so friends are fundraising for an accurate memorial: www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-...
NEW—In late Feb, Chris Rufo published leaked chats between queer/trans employees at US intel agencies. Then Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said she’d fire all involved. I spoke to chat members who were fired, are on admin leave, and who kept their jobs about the new lavender scare:
Just stumbled upon one of the wildest reddit threads I've ever seen. Roommate and I are trying to guess if it's real or fake.
To all the reporters writing headlines about how trans people may be refused bathroom access in the UK based on appearance. It will almost certainly cause more cis women to be denied bathroom access. 1/4
Bottom surgery recovery has gone a lot better than I expected. Steeled myself for tremendous pain or something. Instead, it just feels like I got electrolysis this morning.
I've now gone full circle: straight > transitioned > lesbian > queer > bisexual > straight, so I guess I can tick off the G retroactively bringing my lifetime score to LGBTQA.
I appreciate that @andreabeckerphd.bsky.social at least considers trans men and the hypocrisy of the trt push for cis men. www.businessinsider.com/young-men-te...
Young men are getting testosterone boosts to feel stronger, sharper, and anxiety-free
A booming industry of men's health clinics offers men in their 20s, 30s, and 40s testosterone therapy to optimize their bodies. Doctors are skeptical.

when trans people take HRT to feel normal: “look at these depraved sex freaks performing their sick fetish in public, we should bully them out of existence” when cis ppl take HRT so they can fuck real good:

Excited to read @charliejane.bsky.social's "Lessons in Magic and Disaster." She read a chapter about Mae and Serena's relationship which hit home and made me feel kind of awkward because I was attending with my roommate/ex-gf.
so the Economist article isn't attributed an author. but someone in the replies of this 🧵 tipped me off that it was Jəsse Singal. & it turns out that it was, which in retrospect isn't surprising (as he's one of the ppl who would never answer this question):
many ppl highlighting flaws in this article. but having fought in the "80% desistance" wars of the mid-2010s, I remember asking anti-trans activists if they'd be ok if 80% of youth were helped by gender-affirming care (flipping their argument). & they *never* answered. b/c they want *zero* trans ppl
Journalists and those with institutional power have completely ceded control of framing. "Parent's" concerns are already addressed in most instances, making those concerns unfounded. In the instances where their concerns might be founded, the solution exists. They just don't like it and never will.
He conceded that parents have legitimate concerns.
I've said this before and will I guess just keep saying it, but: It has been literally easier for me to sell multiple novels and break into writing for TV on an Emmy-nominated show than to sell one (1) piece about trans issues to a major publication.
Really? We get 5 mins of sweaty, dirty, bloody dick and balls, but Ellie and Dina cuts to black after 5 seconds?
Does Tommy Tuberville think Lady Ballers was a documentart / biopic?
How do we get cis people to stop saying "trapped in the wrong body?"
I was trying to convince a cis friend to read Woordworking by @emilystjams.bsky.social, and I ended up spending 20 minutes explaining trans moms and heterotemporality.
I'd go back to 2004 when I was 13. I told my therapist I wanted to be a girl, but I quickly reeled it back in because I was worried that she would tell my mom and my mom wouldn't love me anymore. I would tell my younger self that my mom still loves me and how much happier I could be.
Does anyone else see Luigi Mangione in their head when they imagine Aaron in the Dorley Hall basement? Or is it just me?
Cis people keep asking me how they can help and expect me to tell them exactly what to do. Honey, I'm tired. I'm trying not to be rude, but go ask a civil rights org or read this www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/02/its-... or something.

It's nice to be reminded that people care about me, especially during this assault on trans existence.
I really like the specificity of nsfw/adult content filters on bluesky. Other sites will just flag something as adult content, which is useless if you follow a lot of queer people. Am I about to see full-blown porn, surgery scars, or a boring discussion about transition? Spin the wheel to find out.
This is an appallingly discriminatory document. This not only seeks to define transgender people out of existence, as with last week's order, today's executive order states that being transgender "conflicts with a soldier's commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle."
Major news: Donald Trump has just issued a trans military ban, with much of the details left to Hegseth. It states that being trans is incompatible with "an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle" I know many military trans people who have served admirably for decades. Shameful.
I cried at the end of Dorley Ch. 19. It was really cathartic after months of feeling alienated from myself as a result of hormonal imbalance. Iykyk. Spoilers in comment.
