We’re proud to be the translator of this work, and even more so upon seeing the reactions of manga fans! This manga was a tough one to translate but rest assured we put our all into ensuring we captured all the nuances of Nakamura-sensei’s dialogue and storytelling!

What is insane (but lovely) about the US/UK #anime market at present is that history is being dished up to fresh audiences as distributors grab IP from decades back. Samurai Pizza Cats, The Big O, Memories, Patlabor - all huge back when British fandom was tiny. Oldskoolers can say we told you so.

Discotek announced at Otakon nearly 20 new releases slated for this year, including: Toradora, Digimon Frontier, Big O, Samurai Pizza Cats, Pani Poni Dash, and much more.

At the Ghost in the Shell panel. Not even the screenwriter and producer have seen Shirow in the flesh. Shirow communicates only by photographing hand written notes and sending jpegs to his editor, who relays info to the staff.

I'm at anime background artist Kazuki Higashiji's panel at Otakon. He begins with a statement in English. He doesn't see backgrounds as pretty scenery, but creating the world itself. He doesn't just make objects but thinks about the history of the place. Makes the world more believable.

This is something that's been the topic of conversation in a lot of the anime space for a while now - we've been watching Sony/CR steadily reduce the number of Blu-Rays they released over the past few years, and were bracing for this moment. It's been shitty to see this happen in slow motion.

This is the first time I've seen someone with the actual correct interpretation of what is happening here: Sony wants to go full subscriptions service/cloud gaming. They don't want to sell you physical games because they don't want to sell you *games*. They want to sell you a subscription.

We’ve just learnt about a German based insult for the chronically online critics with too much time on their hands who complain about everything (the type of people who would deride something being woke). “Hobby less behaviour”. We think it’s great.
