Hopefully we can again learn that winning coalitions don’t emerge from perfectly complimentary alliances, but from acknowledging that the defeating those shared adversaries is more important and there is no animus to waste.

Did see some hubbub about this and not surprisingly this was not a decision by the actual team, another group of people were responsible for this presentation . This should have been reviewed more thoroughly, but we can still be excited about Avatar: The Last Airbender.

A day of ruminating after seeing the Odyssey on Monday and still the sound of the bow still fills my mind. I’m going to have to see it again. It was a true masterpiece.
Nolan’s Odyssey is astonishing. It is rigorously faithfully and insistently original, in ways that express his distinctive ideas and obsessions. I can’t imagine that any filmmaker will improve upon it or even try. It is so fucking good. Films like this are why I love the movies. See it in theaters.
We need to repent to Zeus, if I learned anything from the Odyssey yesterday.
