How long it takes and how hard it is to undo the damage will depend in large part on the political will of the people elected to do it. If you get hand-wringing caveat peddlers who want to deliberate for years before acting it'll never happen. Plan has to be ready on day one

"Why's it taking so long to take down the name when they put it up so fast?" yeah, undoing every single thing he's done is gonna be exactly like that, get used to it

Took the bus and as I was in the aisle getting off the driver suddenly closed the doors and drove, sending me flying onto the stairs and then yelled as me as I limped off. But you know what? I still love public transit baby.

This whole conversation is sticking with me. I’m very pro helmet, I’ve lost friends who could’ve been saved by helmets. But there are very good arguments against helmet laws! I’ve seen cops in DC harass cyclists claiming helmets are the law (they aren’t).

"should cyclists wear helmets" discourse is such a good one because the arguments for both positions are totally common-sense and unassailable, everyone just digs in.

Awesome photos of the lunar eclipse! Clouds parted just in time to catch views of the almost total lunar eclipse Thursday night. Capital Weather readers shared some amazing photos with us. Here is a sample. Photos by Dave Lyons, Scott Jacobson and Lena Osipova-Stocker
