Last night I felt something on my head when I was sleeping, I reached up and got bit by a spider. Then I had to spend half an hour trying to figure out what the spider was and if I need to do anything about it.

I don't get these guys. The only thing near the stop is car parks and warehouses? If they moved it 1km down the road it'd be close to both the airport and where people live. They can also just... add a stop. If the line was electrified, that'd be […] [Original post on masto.canadiancivil.com]
Police bodycams and the Freedom of Information Act has created a pretty crazy production ecosystem of YouTube channels. They get access, then edit together the footage using the court records and file photos.
Shopping around for camera gear and times have changed, everything is now cheaper in #Canada. I wonder how many Americans are returning from holidays in Canada with a slightly heavier camera bag this year.
Building like this benefit all of us, even if we don’t live in them. More tax uplift. Less traffic, saving you time and money, supporting local businesses. Growing up is profitable for city services, urban sprawl leads to financial ruin. This is Edmonton, but really it is any city.
Was out filming today on a video about electoral reform had two American tourists at different times come up to me to chat. They immediately said they are from “Blue states” which is kind of funny given the subject matter. Plenty of classic “Red/Blue […] [Original post on masto.canadiancivil.com]

@FediThing @kjuh I’d guess it’s because most people who film an eclipse are there for that moon-on-sun action. I just happen to find people and cities interesting enough to point my camera there.
RE: https://masto.canadiancivil.com/@info/117055858557386505 When I brought up the new Canadian Civil Alive format Miles was the first person to immediately got it and he had the first iteration of this mission suggested within about 5 seconds. Up until that point I figured it'd just be me and […]

The one and only #MilesInTransit will be in #Canada in a week to give the #Montreal Metro a marathon accessibility inspection. In one day him and “le gang” will hit every elevator on the system shining a light on an often forgotten consequence of underinvestment […]
Does life in #Montreal just mean you have fruit flies in your house all summer? Every year I freeze my compost, put away fruit, put recycling outside, have traps and there are literally always a few of them in the house. Today I was pouring boiling water in my drain thinking that might fix it […]

Nazi vs Crackhead. The algo has taken us to a really stupid place.
This crazy interview is basically a parody: Vox interviews "Congressman Safeseat". The two party machine is forcing people to choose between fascists and dinosaurs. Then after the election the fascists out manoeuvre the dinosaurs and things get even worse […]

It turns out this median strip near my house is called “Papineau Square” which makes me think it probably used to actually be a place before the neighborhood was levelled by Jean Drapeau. https://maps.app.goo.gl/iCjVFYeEfgcH2jEj9
It's time to take Electoral Reform seriously. We need a democracy where leaders are accountable to every citizen – one where every vote actually leads to more local representation. But I want to go even further in restoring our democratic culture:
Does anyone know someone who has a broken/shitty old boat sitting in their yard they want to get rid of? (Within 200km of #Montreal)
Today's Low Quality Ad is for this "Say Perhaps To Drugs" Pin. No, I am not encouraging you to do drugs. That would be highly irresponsible of me. I am simply encouraging you to *consider* doing drugs. https://collabs.shop/6fftbo

There are so many empty parking lots in this area of #hochelaga, I assumed a friend could park there during Canadian Civil Alive, but I think they're all owned by this tobacco factory. Why don't we start shifting commercial over to a land value tax so […] [Original post on masto.canadiancivil.com]
Ontario Liberals are being cheated by a system that's left them third in seats twice in a row despite winning the second most votes. It is time the party takes electoral reform seriously. Great to see @ericlombardi.ca call for a binding citizens' assembly!
My wonderful friend Carl passed away this morning after battling cancer for a year. You can see him pop up in a few of my videos over the years whenever I could squeeze him in. I loved him to bits and he was a profoundly positive influence on my life.
