She/her/it, 46, Author, primarily horror, Texpat in Ontario, constantly murmuring about terrible things felt but not seen

Just posted up at the hotel bar and grill, waiting for check in with a cocktail, out here on Victoria Island. In ten years of marriage and who knows how many years before that, I don't think either of us have had a vacation in our adult lives? This place is DOPE

Just hit the 10 pieces waiting for review at one time milestone. Feels good! Think I'll celebrate with a palate cleansing piece of flash fiction, then dig in hard to writing a novel/ette

Snippet from something submitted to Scylla's upcoming sapphic anthology: "I narrowed my eyes at the man, who appraised us openly from the waiting room. Even the most unclean, untouchable butcher would have put glass between us and his stare." #favlinefriday

When I talk about missing Tex-Mex food culture, this is it, right here. Not just the food itself (the best on earth), but also the communities around it. Some of my favorite memories involve hustling 9 ball until the gentleman with two full igloos of tamales came into the bar late at night.

Mexican bakers are taking to the streets—often in Scion xBs—to deliver delicious pan dulce all over the state. 🍪🥐✨ https://www.texasmonthly.com/food/mobile-panaderias/

@goddessblade.bsky.social I'm reaching out to see if you would be willing to pass it along? I'm a trans teacher trying to pay for a move to flee Texas and have already burned through my savings and am still very short. If you could reblog this I'd appreciate it immensely! gofund.me/b17d24f56

I'm mid 40's, and lucky to have the disposable income for a nice meal once in a while and to keep a house cat, so various surgeries and body modifications just aren't in the cards, and that's "fine", but IF THEY WERE... Man, I'd wanna keep the scars, gnarlier the better.

I don't suppose any magazines are looking for slush readers? I figured it'd be a brilliant way to learn about what other writers are sending in and to get a feel for what editors think makes something stand out, but an application I put in has been waiting long enough for me to shop around.

Howdy, Paige here, mostly writing horror and "weird" fiction. Alot of submissions out there waiting, and the current WIP closest to finishing involves an immortal "monster" struggling with modernity, but rediscovering passion and a way to satisfy her terrible hunger

Hello #WeeknightWriters ! Come on in, introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your writing week is going! Or not going, that's valid too

Notepad that says “#WeeknightWriters

Introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your writing week is going!”

One two punch of rejections. I really am sorry if talking about it is either triggering or just obnoxious. I'm just trying to take a "celebrate the scars" approach to all these submissions. Getting stronger, not going to question whether my work has value.
