Talarico: "Corrupt politicians are profiting off a corrupt war and Texans are literally paying the price ... this war in Iran is a disaster. It is killing Americans, driving up the price of gas and diesel, it is wrecking our moral standing around the world. And it must end."

My takeaway from this piece, based on a paper that will be in the Harvard Educational Review: Amazon has joined the more notorious tech bros in their single-minded quest for even more power and profit off of schools and kids, and our society and our lives. Dense, terrifying, essential research.

The plan is paid for by taking child care supports away from low income parents (mothers), just as they're requiring these same families (women) to *work* to access Medicaid and SNAP. The real goal is to punish poor single mothers. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/21/u...

Big news: The family of Tierra Walker, who died after she couldn't get an abortion, is suing a slate of Texas actors in state court, including AG Ken Paxton. They say the state ban is unconstitutional. This is the first suit of its kind. 19thnews.org/2026/09/texa...
