Have been screaming this for years. Most fundamental right of all is self-determination, the right right to choose who you are. To be yourself, without harming others. Without this most fundamental right, we are not really free.
Transgender people deserve to have a nice life. That is the entirety of the argument. If you disagree, you’re saying that you do not believe in liberty or justice for all.
Being disabled for most of my adult life I've been keenly aware that politicians wished I would just "go away". Now that I'm trans it's been educational to see how many are working to accomplish that goal.
