#AnthropologyAugust Once again doing the opposite, we just talked about the largest intelligent species, now what is the smallest? Does your setting have goblins or gnomes? Or does it have even smaller creatures like bugs or fairies? Does their size affect their interactions with other species?

As of now, the Lukshen and Umakek. The Uma are short furred beings with long ears resembling anthro burrowing mammals. Their size makes it easier for them to use stealth, fit into tight spaces and tunnel safely. On average they are physically weaker, but are highly intelligent. +

Not be useless, not be useless—He dashed toward her screaming, the limb with its branches extended in front of him. The mass took the Cedhrun in the face and its axe scythed down between him and Mistle, missing them both. As it staggered backward, Mistle swept its legs out from under it with her spear shaft. Rushak grabbed the axe and hurled it back through the trees. Their eyes met. Mistle's face was scratched, her arm bleeding, but she was flushed with exhilaration. She was also endangered by fatigue. No such THRILL inflamed Rushak's blood; his pulse thundered, wild with fear. He glanced at their toppled foe, which was still struggling with the branches in its face. Then he glared at her. "Come on!" he said through his teeth, tilting his head toward the looming Forest trees. "You are very talented, but we can help better from up there." Brother's Keeper A.C. Turek

Instead of a single species, I'll go with a classification as they're all pretty rare. The Rahma or Living Gods, are the most uncommon life forms on Inuju. Most have a level of magic or overwhelming physical prowess that leaves them deified. Two examples are the Djinn and the Bnzehkii.

After wandering through the galleries and halls for several minutes, she came across a balcony overlooking a beautiful garden with a pool shimmering bright and cool in the sunlight. It looked so deliciously refreshing, she was half-tempted to jump over the side of the balcony to get to it. And best of all, it was completely deserted. That was just what she needed. A peaceful swim in the sunlight, with no one else around to bother her. She hurried back inside. But by the time she’d found her way out to the garden, she discovered someone else had had the same idea as her. A boy about her age was perched on the base of a statue by the pool, lounging back against its leg and letting one of his own legs dangle down as he piped out a sleepy tune on a curved riina flute. “What are you doing here?” she barked. Her shout shattered the tranquility so violently that the boy’s skin nearly leaped off his bones. His pipe gave a startled squeak, and he sprang to his feet in a clumsy panic. “I wasn’t! I’m sorry! I didn’t think—!” he blurted, fumbling to hide the flute behind his back. But then his eyes found their way to her face, and he frowned. “Hold on, who are you?” “Mireia.” She swept her arm at him as though he were a bothersome fly. “And I want to be alone, so would you please leave?”

#SumLuv 2 The MCs of #GodsOfAtalantis are Mireia & Kena, who are allegedly the incarnations of the sea goddess & sun god. Mireia is a strong-willed chaos gremlin with a good heart. Kena is an intelligent, gentle nurturer & a smartass. They get thrown together as supposedly "fated lovers" BUT...🧵

For the first time since I walked into this manor, Irena shows confusion and reluctance all over her face, as if she has an answer to give but is desperate not to tell it. “I don’t think-“ “We’re all laying our cards on the table here, don’t fold now!” I say, maybe a little harshly. This seems to jar Irena slightly. “Alright. But I want your word you won’t be angry with anyone over this. We all only wanted to help, especially after I heard how much an unknowing Venn was suffering in ignorance!” Irena says. The wording is weird, and a suspicion begins to worm through my head like a thorny vine. “Okay?” “A former student of this school. She was here, taking the same class with Val as all the other students ten years ago this year. A lovely girl who I still keep in contact with.” “Ohhh!” Val says from the side as recognition passes over his face like sun rays breaking out from behind storm clouds. “You mean-“ Irena nods. “Yes, **** is the one that organised all of this to get you here, and I thank the Realms that she did, because she saved far more than just your own life. I just really want you to remember that detail, Milly. Milly? Do you hear me?”
