I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

Thinking about how January/December (especially December) from Arkane's criminally underrated Prey (2017) is basically the same entity as 2-Bit from Arkane's underrated Deathloop (2021) which if you know those games that is in fact VERY FUNNY.
Thinking about how in Prey (2017) the non-Typhon based neuromods are both canonically still made of alien goo and also give you abilities only alien metamorphosis explains. How else to explain I went from being unable to lift a tarp to being able to throw a refrigerator in one night? Come on!
Thinking about how the recycler tech in Prey (2017) is the ultimate nihilism. You collect the pretty flowers, you collect the bags of biohazard waste, and it all winds up the same: 'organic material' to be made into medkits/neuromods. Flowers or literal human waste, deep down it's all shit.

Every game engine that isn’t unreal or unity or godot is a labor of love from someone who both doesn’t work there anymore and has a specific grudge against you. “Just make it in unreal” is not really viable for anything that isn’t particularly unreal shaped, unless you invest so much time/money
