That feeling when you get there in good time for the first train at 10.50 And then find it was 10.30 and you've missed it by 4 minutes 🤦 Still there is lovely cafe at Alstom Station so there are upside while you wait!

I absolutely didn't visit just to get the other side to be complete @signaloftheday.bsky.social (but it may have been one of the reasons 😂) On the approach to Lakeside station on Windermere

Also bonus @signaloftheday.bsky.social type content with a couple of miniature arm ground signals. Would have been better from the other side but sometimes it's Hobson's Choice with the seating 😂

It's been a few years but today the Actions finally made it back to the GCR for a days rail riding. This station has a special place in my heart as my earliest memory of visiting a heritage railway with Senior Gricer. I was both thrilled and then terrified when a safety valve lifted next to us!

A trip on this remarkable train is still a special treat to myself. £200 for an en suite club room is a great deal. Get the Highland Sleeper up, explore some of the Scottish rail routes during the day, get the Lowland Sleeper home.
