On the 11th day of Pride, I would like to honour Audre Lorde, a lesbian writer, poet, and activist. Her work was to fight the injustices of racism, sexism, and homophobia. She's written some amazing poetry, but what affected me most is a quote of hers: "Your silence will not protect you". Quite true

On the 10th day of Pride, I would like to honour Wilfred Owen, a gay man and one of the leading poets of World War I. "Anthem for Doomed Youth", a poem to the people lost in war, is especially moving. Owen was killed in action on 4 November 1918; a week before the armistice

So there it is. S195 makes it lawful to provide single sex sports or activities of a competitive nature (@parkrunUK @LondonMarathon) if the activity is sex-affected. All males, including transwomen, can be excluded from female categories on the basis of sex.

'The Supreme Court judgement was purely about positions on boards it wasn't actually talking about sport or toilets'. What? There is a whole section in the judgement about sport. @sarahowen.org.uk does not know what she is talking about & she chaired a session discussing the SC ruling. Appalling.

Today during our questioning of the EHRC, I asked how interim guidelines could possibly adhere to trans people's right to private life. The interim update has many consequences and unanswered questions - for organisations and individuals. I will continue to ask them in our committee.

‘The level of agitation that they can cause in terms of personal attacks, libellous attacks, defamation, where our family members are affected – our intimate family members have to think about how they’re going about to their place of work – has got to stop.’ www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/202...

Equalities watchdog tells trans activists personal attacks ‘have to stop’

Baroness Falkner reveals she had to cancel meeting after police warned of ‘serious risk’ of violence

telegraph.co.uk

I am surprised to see you posting about this shambolic performance. You displayed ignorance of the Supreme Court ruling - e.g. not having read its many references to sport - and highly unprofessional rudeness to Baroness Falkner, even interrupting her when she was responding to a sensitive question.

Your advocacy on behalf of trans activist organisations pushing 'over-reach' or 'male entitlement' is clearly asymmetrically sympathetic to males at the expense of females. Aka 21st century patriarchy where males are valued more highly than females & accrue more power & empathy. Very disappointing.

The Supreme Court highlighted in particular the detriments to female people (lesbians & transmen) of a 'certificated sex' interpretation of the law. Lesbians would have to include male lesbians in same sex attracted services & associations. TM would lose right to pregnancy & maternity protections.

Baroness Falkner EHRC Chair was absolutely outstanding. The Supreme Court judgement & EHRC Interim Update provide absolute clarity. No males (regardless of identity) in female single sex services & sports. Women's and lesbian's rights matter too. Please remember that given your position.

We are pleased to announce that Clive Ruggles will be speaking at 'Joining Forces Against VAWG - Independent But Alongside', our Conference about Violence Against Women and Girls and the Armed Forces, in Portsmouth in October. 🧵👇

The SC ruling means that it is a point of law that they didn't exist before. Your presentation of the comments was staggeringly dishonest. The trans rights movement attempted to arrogate themselves rights they had not been granted in law by disseminating a false interpretation of the law.

There are different ways of providing services. The Equality Act provides for all of them when they are a proportionate means to a legitimate aim.

The single-sex and separate-sex service exceptions in the Equality Act should be straightforward and easy to use. The recent judgment by the Supreme Court in the case of For Women Scotland v The Scottish Ministers made clear that the Equality Act is based on biological sex.

You didn’t answer the point, Otto. It’s about why men seem to be far more keen to tell women that we must accept trans-identified men in the women’s spaces, sports and shortlists our mothers fought so hard for, than to quietly listen to us talk about why we NEED the above: safety, equity, dignity.
