Ken Russell's work is too deliberately kitsch, populist, anti-realist, earnest and kinky to ever be truly loved by the English even though I consider him the most English artist I respect and worship.

And here's why privatised utilities don't work in a nutshell. You cannot ask investors to bear the cost of new infrastructure, it's too expensive and the risk of not building is, ultimately, borne by the state. This is a tacit admission of where the liability really falls after the money extraction
