I’m slowing down as this gets closer to completion. I’m resisting starting something else (I already have a lot of unfinished pieces) as I’ve enjoyed drawing this and have particularly enjoyed the feeling of reconnecting with almost 11 year old me.

"I don't know. Thousands of years ago it crashes and this thing… gets thrown out, or crawls out, and it ends up freezing in the ice." My take on a scene from The Thing featuring the brilliant matte painting art of Albert Whitlock.

Painting, three people stand at the edge of a snow covered crater looking down on the remains of a crashed saucer like craft.

What a weird world we live in - Ukraine hits a data centre deep in Russia - Irish twitter users see racist posts about IPAS centres in Offaly fall off a cliff

And now the best part: Bot traffic from the #Yandex network has plunged to near zero following the strike on its Vladimir data center. Bot traffic includes automated requests from search crawlers, scrapers and other online services. Twitter must be a ghost town by now.

One of the paintings that was stolen was this one, framed. It’s big - like 15x20”. I’ve been tasked with putting together an inventory, which is an awful thing to do. I’m grateful that I have five paintings in my apartment on my walls, but for some reason I stored this one.

Grimy experiments with the big bat himself! been trying out layering up painted textures, drawing, digital colours and textures in a way that clashes and contrasts in an interesting way rather than blending together. explaining that badly but basically making a mess and having fun :-) #batman #art

Looking out rewards for the Stramash Hardback originals when I drew them on A4 watercolour paper I think I was doing some really good stuff then less concerned by form or accuracy and leaning into expressionism. I regret rowing back from it andcthe American standard size for Stramash 63.
