34 years ago today marked the first day of principal photography on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, all on Paramount Stage 4. Avery Brooks, Colm Meaney, Nana Visitor, and guest actor Gene Armor (as a Bajoran bureaucrat) filmed scenes that day.

I have two uncut sheets of these cards. My stepdad at the time ordered them from QVC. They were in storage for almost 20 years and I haven't found a good place to hang them in my house yet

rewatched Rings of Power s2 this weekend. not perfect by any stretch, pretty disjointed tbh. but Charles Edwards' performance as Celebrimbor and his arc into just complete ruin really elevates the season. having a hard time imagining s3 having the same emotional weight without him

Charles Edwards as Celebrimbor, Greatest of the Elven Smiths, when we meet him all fresh and dignified in RoP season one Charles Edwards as Celebrimbor in season two having been absolutely put through the ringer by a deliciously bitchy, conniving, negging "Annatar". both the acting and the writing for this character and his relationship with Sauron really elevated what is still a very disjointed show

Now that photos for the SNW puppet episode are out, I need to warn everyone that I hated this episode with the white-hot fire of a thousand baby stars. Note: the 'their' mentioned in the second image refers to the writers. I blacked out the bit before it to avoid spoilers.

Ethan Peck as Spock, the only non-puppet on the bridge, with puppet Erica at the conn, and puppet Pike and puppet Una blurry in the background. This photo is cute. The episode is not. A screenshot of my Discord chat with Antimatter Pod cohost Liz:

What is their trauma if I have to create a crisis to learn it I will.
Anyway, that’s the 7 minute mark.

Liz, I hate this

My notes are getting increasingly unhinged

I want all 54 minutes of my life back immediately

It's something I've definitely complained about before. Why aren't we getting Star Trek stories pertinent to climate change, immigration, biodiversity, vaccinations, authoritarianism, AI, personal data privacy, misinformation, hate speech, shootings, corruption, wealth inequality, extinctions…

I forget who said it, but given the times in which we live, for a Star Trek show to have absolutely nothing to say is a total waste

I can't remember where I saw it but the comment that "Strange New Worlds writers don't seem interested in writing Star Trek episodes anymore" rings so true. This show is so amped to "experiment with different genres" every week that it has no real identity. The world's most expensive cosplay series.

Titan Bridge Graphic Its Frontier Day - a wonderful celebration of the Federation and Starfleet. The fireworks are apparently planned to be so spectacular that the day's events will be long remembered.
