34 years ago today marked the first day of principal photography on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, all on Paramount Stage 4. Avery Brooks, Colm Meaney, Nana Visitor, and guest actor Gene Armor (as a Bajoran bureaucrat) filmed scenes that day.

yes! these were released during season five, they even made a specific card for it with a sick ass early 90s CGI Starfleet insignia
I have two uncut sheets of these cards. My stepdad at the time ordered them from QVC. They were in storage for almost 20 years and I haven't found a good place to hang them in my house yet
rewatched Rings of Power s2 this weekend. not perfect by any stretch, pretty disjointed tbh. but Charles Edwards' performance as Celebrimbor and his arc into just complete ruin really elevates the season. having a hard time imagining s3 having the same emotional weight without him
Still thinking of Wrenn Schmidt’s incredible portrayal of Margo Madison across more than 40 years of narrative in #ForAllMankind. She’s made Margo one of my favourite characters in television. youtu.be/Rq8CFWWykN4?...

Now that photos for the SNW puppet episode are out, I need to warn everyone that I hated this episode with the white-hot fire of a thousand baby stars. Note: the 'their' mentioned in the second image refers to the writers. I blacked out the bit before it to avoid spoilers.
ffs they're so tacky and stupid
the foxhole would be filled with full diapers

Filming on location at the Pitt River Quarry in British Columbia for STAR TREK BEYOND (2016)
Been screaming from the rooftops to anyone who'd listen that we slagged ENT for exactly this in its second season & we got the S3 we did as a result Nowadays we have 69 simultaneous 9/11s and it's crickets
I forget who said it, but given the times in which we live, for a Star Trek show to have absolutely nothing to say is a total waste
It's sort of the most damning conclusion of the whole era. A lot of money, hundreds of hours of TV, much of it nominally good, very little of it with anything to say
I forget who said it, but given the times in which we live, for a Star Trek show to have absolutely nothing to say is a total waste
It's something I've definitely complained about before. Why aren't we getting Star Trek stories pertinent to climate change, immigration, biodiversity, vaccinations, authoritarianism, AI, personal data privacy, misinformation, hate speech, shootings, corruption, wealth inequality, extinctions…

Co-writers Simon Pegg and Doug Jung with Director Justin Lin, Karl Urban, and Chris Pine on the set of STAR TREK BEYOND (2016)
Strange New Worlds is going to do a gimmick episode where the gimmick is they do it in the style of Star Trek
I can't remember where I saw it but the comment that "Strange New Worlds writers don't seem interested in writing Star Trek episodes anymore" rings so true. This show is so amped to "experiment with different genres" every week that it has no real identity. The world's most expensive cosplay series.

once again telling you USS Picard makes way more sense
They even had a plaque made for the USS Picard "Make it so..."
