I assigned random gender/ethnicity labels to scientific abstracts from the literature and then asked Claude to do a thematic analysis. Claude identified a clinical versus computational split for female/male authors and a DEI focus for Black/URM authors. All in completely random data.
That these racist thugs have morphed into "far right influencers" is central. Being a bigot used to be a hobby. It is now a profession. We don't have to treat the monetisation of hate as an inevitable phenomenon. We can regulate platforms - not to supress speech, but to remove financial incentives.

Backed by rich American donors and the Kremlin, the far-right influencer with a long criminal record for which he has repeatedly done time offers a distorted vision of Britain has gone global.
One more thought: what if the internet-fueled participatory propaganda cycles — and those who know how to exploit them — are really good at garnering attention, harnessing grievance, and tearing down things (trust, institutions, USAID, the WH's east wing, etc.) but really bad at actually governing?

It’s been only 8 days since the Supreme Court’s VRA ruling. Republicans in Florida and Tennessee have already passed new congressional gerrymanders for 2026. Alabama is on the verge of doing so, and Louisiana will follow within days. Mississippi and South Carolina are actively debating it too

Mr Fico's junior gov't partner SNS proposes to regulate political polling and assign the supervisory authority to the state-controlled Statistical Office of The Slovak Republic. Bolivia comes to mind. All of Slovakia's established pollsters estimate SNS < the 5% entry threshold since late 2024.

The problem with training AI models on existing human-made data is that there might not be enough smart content. The 80:20 rule and all that; what you will end up with, at best, is a general artificial mediocrity.
