Traduzo libros (Terry Pratchett, Shirley Jackson, William Blake...), videoxogos (Civilization VII, GBF: Relink...) e textos institucionais do inglés cara ao galego e castelán. Tamén toco a gaita gaitiña! He/Him/El/Él Avatar: @herrlorenz.bsky.social 🇵🇸

Analysts estimate that 70%+ of Microsoft, Google and Amazon's present and future AI revenues are from Anthropic and OpenAI's compute spend and model sales. Outside of two unsustainable AI labs, demand barely exists, and they've massively overbuilt capacity. www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-deman...

I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an afterwork beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."

And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed.

I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them."

And i was like, ohok and he continues.

"you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."

I haven't forgotten that at all.

An excellent response by the band, and a clear-eyed acknowledgement that "institutional inaction is moving citizens to personal risks". Indeed it's the subtle but, once internalized, unbreakable realization that none of us are free until Palestine 🇵🇸 is free. Palestine is truly the litmus test.

This is Massive Attack's response to what happened in Singapore, posted on their Instagram page. Good on them.

"Prioridad extranjera" www.eldiario.es/aragon/econo...

Debería ir apuntando as anécdotas dos turigrinos.

It's heartbreaking that on the eve of the debut of a project into which so many wonderful, passionate, talented, dedicated artists have poured their emotion and abilities, that the project's reception has been marred by someone(s) so willfully reckless with the reputation and work of their peers

150,000 marched yesterday in London for trans rights. Opened the Sky News app. Scrolled and scrolled. Nothing. BBC News app. Nothing. Guardian app. Nothing. This is what actual silencing looks like.

As always, new devs get it in the shorts twice with these things: not only are companies laying off (meaning they don't have openings for new devs), the jobs that ARE available are going to be snapped up by the people getting laid off, meaning we're essentially reaching a point of zero new blood.

Did you know that in official numbers (often extracted from WARN notices), contractors aren't counted as cut employees? So the games industry bloodbath is even worse than being reported. Big ups to Rebekah for covering what many game workers already know: it's past time we fight for our dignity.
