after over a year working at a storage facility I finally had my first phone call with a former tenant who wanted to reclaim items from their unit... that they stopped paying for in March, and which sold at auction in June. They thought we could somehow get them their stuff back. lmao.

I remember realizing "wait if someone is kind to me I want them to feel good. If they benefit that's nice."

On Germany: something I can’t stand is the idea that the Left and the Green parties haven’t offed arguments about the cost of living. They have! It’s just that they haven’t offered *hate*. The AfD have offered hate, that is their most passionate offering, that is primarily why they are thriving.

Speaking from experience: running a small business can be absolutely soul-crushing. And half the time, your problems are ones the world is imposing on you that you had no part in creating. If you can, please give Maya a hand. This tariff bullshit is awful.

tried to follow a pan seared salmon recipe that made a point of not getting very specific on how hot your pan should be ("until water jumps around" and then later "turn it down a little so the oil doesn't burn") so I ended up with very flavorful salmon that was totally raw and uncooked on the inside

this photo should be made very widely available as an important lesson
