Minnesota led the nation in voter turnout. When faced with threats and intimidation, we vote.
Some Dems did run anti-trans campaigns, and the results show that NONE OF THEM HAD TO. So one of my takeaways is that if you are Dem and still running on bigotry, it's not because you are being "pragamatic" it's because you are being a bigot. And you don't have a pollster to cover your ass anymore.
We call this discernment and I unironically, seriously love to see it.

I bet if I were a Black woman in the South I would be perfectly fine with revenge. I just don’t want to look like one of those morons shouting “Lock her up!” At Tr*mp rallies.
Democrats had a historic night, with many “firsts,” but a hard lesson of Obama’s win in 2008 is that an unpopular war, economic crises and political malfeasance are insufficient to forge a durable multiethnic, pro-democracy coalition. The challenge of building a truly pluralistic democracy remains.
I have stayed out of this joke cycle about blue sky being the real America. But this does get us something that I suspect has some empirical true to it. Quality of information matters all the time, but it especially matters in a fragmented information environment with a lot of corporate monopoly.

I’m shocked how much more I know about what’s happening than people who still rely on other social media platforms for news. Not having an algorithm between you and direct information is crucial for an objective reality.

One year after Operation Midway Blitz, I feel pride and gratitude for how Chicagoans and Illinoisans pushed back. For how we spoke up when it was easier to be quiet, opened doors, blew whistles, took videos, and showed up for one another. Thank you to all for your heroism.
I’m no expert on these things but it sure seemed like a choice to put a man so clearly obsessed with being timeless in poses that highlight the futility of fighting time. You can look good for a long time but you can’t look young forever.
My number one rule about culture writing is that craft cannot compensate for contempt. If you hate the people, you cannot write about their culture. Apropos of nothing.
